Data 80
Biography
Among numerous other projects, HÃ¥kan Lidbo produced poppy glitch-house tracks for Force Tracks as Data 80 in the early 2000s. The production work, debuted in 2002 on the Love Was Made for Two 12" and compiled on a self-titled LP shortly thereafter, embraced the same unabashed '80s synth pop sense of revival that had proven so successful among the electroclash crowd as well as among French pop-house acts like Daft Punk and Air. Lidbo's Data 80 tracks mostly feature heavily vocodered English-language lyrics about the simpler and happier elements of love, formatted into palatable three-and-a-half-minute verse-chorus-verse song structures. As such, they were some of the most accessible music ever released by the Force Inc family of labels and garnered quite a bit of attention as a result. ~ Jason Birchmeier, All Music Guide
