Dave Koz
Biography
The latest contender for the instrumental pop saxophone throne, Dave Koz came out of nowhere after his self-titled 1990 release made it onto the Billboard contemporary jazz charts and stayed there several weeks. He has more fire and intensity in his work than Kenny G, and often sounds like a reworked David Sanborn. Koz also played on Arsenio Hall's show, which increased his popularity among the urban contemporary, light jazz, and pop audiences. Koz plays instrumental pop covers, some upbeat tunes, and generally sticks to the fusion production formula: background vocalists, synthesizers, and drum machines, a minimum amount of solo space, and so on. His sessions are available on CD and have been regularly released since his first appearance on the scene. Highlights include 1993's peppy Lucky Man, 1999's collaboration-heavy Dance, 2001's holiday treat A Smooth Jazz Christmas, and 2007's film music-themed At the Movies. ~ Ron Wynn, All Music Guide

This song takes me back to the heart of Pheonix. Man I don't remember much about what I was doing except enjoying this song and driving around and thinking how much I love that city.

I luv Dave. A very good jazz player. 1st seen him in Jacksonville FL, at Metroplitian Park, with Gerald Albright, Benoit, and Jackson. Enjoyed it very much. I too wish there was a Jazz station in Jacksonville or somewhere near Brunswick, GA where I could tune into a Jazz station. I too say keep the JAZZ COMING!!!!!! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

I love Dave Koz. His CD "The Dance" is one of my all time favorites. Wish I could see him in concert. I live in Jacksonville and we do not have a jazz station anymore. I loved listening to his radio show. Still miss it.

Excuse me! DAve doesn't use drum machines. I don't know where they get that. He uses all sorts of talented musicians to get his albums and his live performances done. He's a great entertainer. He has a charismatic personality. He hosts a cruise, radio shows, TV show, web-site, plus charitable organization s . His music is something you can always hum to, dance to, relax to. He plays the happiest smooth jazz around. He collaborates with great artists like Jonathan Butler, Rick Braun, Wayman Tisdale
