The artist(David Seville) is Ross Bagdasarian (a cousin of my father) .He was the person responsible for bringing the Chipmunks to life. In those days there were no harmonizers in the studios , so you had to play the recorded music at a much slower speed and overdub the vocals . Then when played back at regular speed ,you got the CHIPMUNKS.
