Day Of Fire
Biography
It was after Full Devil Jacket lead singer Josh Brown overdosed on heroin in 2000, upon the conclusion of the band's first tour, that it became clear to him that he needed to change his life or risk death, so instead of completing the next Full Devil Jacket album Brown spent the next few years trying to clean up his life, finding religion in the process. Though he thought he would never enter the music business again, Brown didn't stop writing songs, and around this same time, Essential Records, a Christian label, contacted Brown and expressed interest in working with him. As the singer had no real material, initially nothing stemmed from these meetings, but it gave Brown the impetus to begin writing music with friend and fellow Jackson, TN, resident Greg Hionis. Soon they had enough to record Day of Fire's self-titled debut, which came out on Essential in 2004. In 2006, with guitarist Joe Pangallo, bassist Chris Pangallo, and drummer Zach Simms completing the lineup, the band released its sophomore album, Cut and Move. ~ Marisa Brown, All Music Guide

You can't understand meaning unless you have a point of reference. I am sure I would hate Full Devil Jacket, and it isn't because of a lack of reference but the inability to get my head down that deep in the muck... I've done it before just didn't really care for it...

I agree Bayonette! Mainstream is doing any and everything to avoid the true power of the blood of Jesus Christ! That is why we are called to be warriors in this messed up world!
|
||
Am I the only one that gets sick and tired of secular write-ups that say that someone "found religion"?! They didn't find religion anymore than religion Saves anyone. The change that the world sees is when someone finds an intimate personal relationship with Jesus Christ!

I really like them, they are like a traditional regular rock n roll band. They remind me of sting or Audioslave, or maybe Rage. They are great!

I've only heard their first album, and in my opinion it sucked, but i do think that josh's story is amazing.

Here's just a quick thought. I'm not a Christian, I'm a follower and lover of Jesus! Christian is such a loose term now that practically anyone can call themselves a Christian. NO RELIGION HERE!!! A follower of Jesus has no religion because religion means that it's one person's set of beliefs that's true for them, but the fact is, there's no truth but Jesus' TRUTH! Religious people were actually the ones that killed Jesus! Anyone can argue with what I've said, but they can't change the Truth!!!

Josh Brown can scream listen to the song "Detainer." I mean it is more like yelling than screaming. It isn't like Diciple screaming, but it is good enough.
