Biography
Forced from his position as keyboardist for Dutch goth-rock luminaries Within Temptation due to chronic illness in 2001, Martijn Westerholt worked to get himself back to match fitness and over the course of the next few years began to write music. Bringing together some of the more well known musicians in the genre (including Marko Hielata, Jan Yrlund, and Liv Kristine) as well as lead vocalist Charlotte Wessels of To Elysium, Westerholt was able to realize a new musical project, and he named it Delain. Signed to Roadrunner, the group released a single ("Frozen") in 2006, and their debut album in 2007, entitled Lucidity. ~ Chris True, All Music Guide

Having just nabbed Lunatica's New Shores album (thanks to an irresistible price point compelling me to preview it) I can attest to just how terrible it is that Pandora doesn't any of their material!
Stop recommending bands that turn out to be awesome OMW, you'll bankrupt me! But seriously though, my music collection thanks you for the name-drop. (While I'm on the topic of bands Pandora doesn't have but should, add Katra and Operatika to that list.) |

They remind me a lot of Lacuna Coil, but i get a more positive feeling from their music.

... yeah, I totally caved in and bought the album, thus breaking my self imposed moratorium on new album purchases before a single week had passed.
And I don't regret it, because it was money bloody well spent! All the songs are great, though I am really digging the title track right now. |

I'd been seeing this album all the time lately in Amazon's recommendati o n s based on my previous purchases, but I'd never heard of Delain before so I kept glancing over it. And then today it played on my station...
I am having to REALLY restrain myself from buying the album right now because the song I just heard was FREAKING AWESOME. Apparently Amazon was right on the money when it recommended this to me, heh! |

Not really distinctive from the other bands in the genre to me, maybe since it's a bunch of different bands coming together into some sort of superband, but they're not bad. I really love that album cover!

I've been pushing for this band to be added as well. Glad to see them on Pandora! Every track on this album is a good one. Their first album, Lucidity, has some good tracks. The April Rain album is a real progression and definitely a move in a great direction.

Charlotte Wessels.... hot! I actually really dig on this band as well. Very polished studio sound.
