Delerium
Biography
A joint effort by Rhys Fulber and former Front Line Assembly bandmate Bill Leeb, Delerium has produced some of the most unusual sounds to emanate from Vancouver, Canada. With Leeb responsible for finding samples, writing lyrics, creating bass lines, sequencing, and overseeing the project and Fulber handling the sampling and programming, and using a chords/string pad to craft additional melodies and arrangements, the group's sound is a dance-inspiring mix of electronics and post-industrial attitude.
Although he initially attracted attention as a member of several cyberpunk/industrial bands, Fulber took a more ambient dance approach with Delerium. The group found success with its 1997 album Karma, which sold more than a quarter of a million copies and included a major club/dance hit, "Silence," that reached number three in the United Kingdom, number one in Ireland, number four in Belgium, and number five in Australia.
With the members of Delerium separating in the mid-'90s, Fulber produced albums by P.O.D., Sarah Brightman, David Foster, and Fear Factory. The band reunited in 2001 and released Poem, followed by Chimera two years later. In 2004 Nettwerk released the 1994-2004 collection Best Of. Fulber and Leeb have also recorded as Intermix and Noise Unit. ~ Craig Harris, All Music Guide
Selected Discography
Delerium is probably one of the most prolific artists of the genre. The beats and rhythm really make them meet up to the name delerium. Their remixes of Silence still keeps a grip as a dance music classic. Overall a top notch group.

As much as I have loved Delerium (since the first release) I must admit I haven't heard ANY of the last four releases. Please forgive me.
Gotta love those guys. The combination of the trance sound and ahh,the wonderful bass, are as soothing to my mind,as the ocean wind hitting my face.
I am probably the biggest fan without actually going so far as buying t-shirts and stuff (though I should, but I'm a po' po' little boy with a terrible memory). I hope to go to one of their concerts in the future though.
Delerium is the best! I got to see them in concert recently with Christy (what's her last name?) and Leigh Nash singing everything. It was a really good show.

For mmiro0 - I believe the lyrics come from the song "What Else Is There" from a group Royksopp.

Heard a song on my Delerium channel,Look i n g for the artist. haunting female voice with lyrics,
"I am the storm, I am the the wonder, flash lights, nightmare, sudden explosion.." Can someone help me out, who are they, where are from? |
tectonic shift soothes my soul, wow i absolutley love this music.
I don't remember them from long ago, maybe 5yrs ago and I always loved their sound even more now.
I've been a huge fan of theirs for like 10 years now and love every one of their albums (and I'm going to see them for their 2008 tour, woohoo!). Their earlier work sounds so different from the newer stuff, and yet there's a definite thread tying them all together. There's really no group/projec t I like better. However, there are some that I like nearly/just as much - Sleepthief, Balligomingo , Conjure One, Synaesthesia , Intermix, Enigma. Check em out.

If you like Delerium and are new to the Bill universe, please check out some old projects of theirs before delerium took full steam. Synaethesia and Noise Unit (ref above). It is instrumental but all the sound is there, if you can live with out the fem-seductio n . . . . the spell is hard to break ;)

Sarah McLachlan’s colaboration with Delerium on thesong entitled “Silence” drew me in and I have been a big fan since.
Dreamy and ethereal, while on some tracks, downright earthy. Delerium is my new favorite group.
Gauzy, other wordly, allows me waking dreams. Very relaxing and reflective.
I love the whole ambient, ethereal feel to their music. I also like the variety of great female vocalists that have accompanied them on their albums.
Check out their first CD...it's not listed here but if you like this group thier first CD is a must have..the title is Semantic Spaces.
delerium has always been at the top of my playlist...
wish I could find "Firefly"... one of their best tracks |
Excellent compositions ! Fantastic vocals! I hope Delerium keeps creating more and more and more!

Front Line Assembly meets Enigma and out comes just what you wouldn't expect! Great background music for a Vampire Ball.
