Deva Premal
Biography
German born vocalist and classically trained musician Deva Premal was best known for her work in the field of new age music, specifically her unique brand of chanted Hindu mantras over contemporary musical stylings provided by life partner and collaborator Miten -- himself an established musician, having been part of the blues-rock scene in England in the 1970s. Her first album, The Essence, was released in 1998, and was followed by Love Is Space in 2000. In 2008, Premal and Miten released their latest work, a compilation of their earlier work entitled Into Silence. Their previous release, The Moola Mantra (2007), was an instant new age hit, topping some of the genre's charts. ~ Chris True, All Music Guide

Deva and Miten has lifted my spirits more than many artists -with the exception of Enya.

I've been listening to Deva Premal since before she ever had a real album out...she and Miten just keep deepening, expanding, and infusing their music with incredible energy.

Dancing with the Grace Of the Divine, like a rainbow serpent traveling the galaxies of the known and unknown, while the memory of our original home quakes within my soul, my innocence held until I return home again.

I'm in Hell when she's silent...in Purgatory when she takes a breath...and in Heaven when she sings. My eardrums are bleeding from the sheer tranquility. . .

Namaste, Deva Premal. I am an atheist, but if there was anything that could ever make me believe, it would be the undeniable peace and (yes, even) happiness I get from listening to Dakshina. Your music literally makes the world a better place in which to live. Thanks!
