Dierks Bentley
Biography
Growing up in a nonmusical family in Phoenix, AZ, country singer Dierks Bentley got his country music education on his own, listening to recordings. A love of the music inspired him to move to Nashville at the age of 19, but he quickly grew discouraged by the lack of public and professional interest coming his way. It all changed when he walked into the Station Inn, a bar where the bluegrass faithful hang out. An all-night jam session recharged his batteries and he restarted pursuing gigs. He landed a job at the TNN television network doing research on classic country music and by night he worked on his demos. Capitol Records heard the artist, signed him, and released his self-titled debut, Dierks Bentley, in 2003, which yielded the impossibly catchy single "What Was I Thinkin'". Bringing his love of Merle Haggard and Waylon Jennings more to the forefront, Modern Day Drifter followed two years later and became a Top Ten hit. In 2006 he returned with Long Trip Alone, a more polished effort that was commercial but not crass. Greatest Hits: Every Mile a Memory arrived in 2008, a bit early in his career for that, perhaps, but it did contain his key charting singles and added in fan-selected live tracks as a bonus, making it a nice summation of Bentley's work to date. A new album, Feel That Fire, was released in early 2009. ~ David Jeffries & Steve Leggett, All Music Guide

I agree with sandjunkie28 , Dierks was a lot better in concert than Brad Paisley. Dierks was a lot more layed back.

The power of a country song. My husband really like country music. But when he heard "Come a Little Closer" he reached out to grab my hand. Dierks is awesome!

It's cool that he has so many songs that could easily be about the "Truckin' Lifestyle" such as "Free and Easy"(down the road I go), "Every Mile a Memory", "Long Trip Alone", "Modern Day Drifter", "Lot of Leavin' Left to Do" etc. In my book that makes him pretty awesome! What a cool dude!

I redmber the frist time thish song came out is was in high school. It was good and I still love the song!!!!!!!! ! !

Just saw him open for Brad Paisley. Dierks is a great showman! Wife and I really liked how he engaged the crowd. Not to take anything away from Brad Paisley, but his show was entirely too over done. My wife and I enjoyed Dierks' layed back style much more. He even grabbed a lady's beer to toast the crowd. After he drank her beer, he went back stage and brought her a new one. Classy dude!

Heard a recording of him playing an acoustic show for his fan club this year. He was awesome. I enjoyed his talk between songs as much as the music. Favorite songs are Sideways and What Was I Thinkin'!

I agree with y'all! :). Dierks is an amazing vocalist and country singer. He is so sexy in a suit! Lovin' it! Have his new song 'Feel That Fire' on my iPod. Although my favorite song by him is 'Come A Little Closer.' I don't like many slow songs but that one is awesome.
Keep up the great music Dierks. Sideways is a great song! :) |

I just recently realized that I dont give him the credit he deserves. I dont know any of his songs that i havent loved. We only hear him on the radio with a song 1ce a year or so but those songs are the best
|
||
I hear you. His new song Sideways is so different and reminds of me of Garth Brooks' song Ain't Going Down Til The Sun Comes Up. And I love that song as well. Albeit his older songs, like off of his album Modern Day Drifter are great as well.
|
||
The better picture is back! Love it! I'll have to watch the video for Feel That Fire.

What happened to the other picture that used to be next to his biography? I don't like the one they have now. He looked sexy in the other one. :) Love me some Dierks, keep it up!
