Disciple
Biography
Disciple was formed in 1991 by friends Kevin Young, Brad Noah, and Tim Barrett in an attempt to spread the Gospel while playing the loud, metallic music they loved. Over the years, their style evolved into one similar to many secular alternative metal groups, as they toured churches, high schools, colleges, and similar venues. Their self-released debut, What Was I Thinking came out in 1995, followed by an EP, My Daddy Can Whip Your Daddy, on Warner Resound in 1997. Their sophomore full-length effort, This Might Sting a Little Bit, followed two years later on Rugged Records. By God followed in 2001 on the same label. 2003's Back Again found the band on a new label, the independent Slain Records. The group signed with Sony the following year and released Rise Up in June of 2005. Scars Remain arrived on the Integrity label in 2006. ~ Steve Huey, All Music Guide

@miniclip - its not that there are bands above them, its just that I have a few bands that are all up there. My three favorites are Disciple, Project 86, and Thousand Foot Krutch (in no specific order). I can't put them in order, they're all awesome!

I can really appreciate all you young Bros with 7 in your name Im cbo7string (I am very blessed with a 7-string bass)-been playing for 30 yrs. and been a born-again Christian and true disciple of Jesus for over 20. So all you mighty men of God--Rock on!!! PS-Life is good, but eternal life is better! Peace-in the matchless name of our Lord. Chaz

I love that they are so blatantly christian in their lyrics. I understand why some christian artists are more vague with their lyrics (to have an appeal with non christians). Its just so refreshing to see a band that rocks as hard as they do and has legitimate musical talent that also doesn't shy away from bold christian lyrics. Truly an awesome band, top three in my list!

Great disc-Haven't seen the new lineup yet, but I saw them back when they were a trio (Kevin used to play bass and sing) If you like this or harder music, check out facedownreco r d s . c o m , & strikefirstr e c o r d s . c o m - They sponsor Facedownfest at the Glasshouse in Pomona, CA. Great 2 day show. All age event, meaning no alcohol. This year it's April 3rd & 4th. Local CA band "The Great Commission" & Iowa's own "For Today" are playing the 3rd. This will be my 7th year. Go to facedownfest . c o m for details.

This artist is awesome. I just saw them in concert a couple of days ago in the welcome to the family tour. And they rocked it! I also liked how Kevin (main singer) talked a lot about the gospel and got more in depth. Disciple is also the artist that got me into music, which is cool. I'm glad there is a band like these guys, that plays hard rock music but also tells about the gospel. From Austin B. from Oregon
