Biography
Toronto modern hard rock quintet Evans Blue came together around 2003 after its members found each other by chance through a local musician's message board. Comprised of vocalist Matisyn, guitarists Parker Lauzon and Vlad Tanaskovic, bassist Joe Pitter, and drummer Darryl Brown, the group signed with Pocket Recordings in 2005, entering Pocket Studios with Trevor Kustiak (Cool for August) soon after. The result was their debut, The Melody and the Energetic Nature of Volume, jointly released in February 2006 by Pocket and Hollywood Records. A spring tour supporting Taproot followed, during which Brown left unannounced, to later be replaced by Davis Howard. In July 2007 the band's second album, The Pursuit Begins When This Portrayal of Life Ends, hit shelves. ~ Corey Apar, All Music Guide

I have found that Evans is hard to comprehend at first lisitn, but as you let the songs grow on you, you start to see the world through the songs eyes, which for me has been a very interesting experience, as i have felt this way about no other band.

I can't decide if I like this band. They are growing on me, though. Also, I did not expect the lead singer to look like that.

And Breaking Benjamin is an original band? Really? I love Breaking Benjamin, but they aren't exactly pioneers. I would love to get my hands on the Unplugged Melody.... "Over" is gorgeous acoustic.

theres nothing wrong with two bands sounding similiar. yes evans blue does sound like breaking benjamin, but thats not a bad thing. i personally like to find bands that sound the same, so i dont get bored of the same band, plus, isnt that what pandora is about? to find similiar artists? all of you are complaining that they sound like breaking benjamin. that means pandora is doing its job right. by the way evans blue is not my favorite band, so dont say im just a defensive fan.

"The Pursuit" has quickly become one of my favorite CDs. It's sound is so rich that every time I play through it, I hear something new.

They're really good........ I just feel like I've heard this sound somewhere before.....o h wait I have...break i n g benjamin. They're good, but they need to find their own sound.

The new singer Chandler is actually really good. I was afraid to like the band, since I became close to Matisyn's singing. But I think Evans Blue is going to be okay if fans support. =D

Lou I think you meant to say this band takes you away otherwise we have no clue what song your talking about. Oh I've seen them twice so far and they put on an amazing live show to bad though they disbanded.

they are good but man! give me one ray of sunshine or a pitcher of ale! i mean to say just one song with an optimistic flow. this is also one o those bands that looks nothing like they sound you know you hear a song and you think huh these guys are probly little skinny emo f**ks but nope they are beefy cartman types LOL!

Their first albumn is feels so good to listen to when you feel like stabbing ur girl in the face with a spoon after a big fight!

These guys sound a lot like Breaking Benjamin to me. Surprised to hear a Toronto band I don't know that sounds so polished.

band got pwnt by parker is what the word is at the moment. Can follow Kevin Matisyn on his myspace for his new projects, and Evans Blue is looking for a new lead singer. Truly sad such an awesome band broke due to BS.

thats so cool... they cover WOMEN'S songs!! Not a lot of guys out there willing to stretch like that.. Awesome version of 'boys for pele' or 'caught a lite sneeze'.. Much respect!

the background music goes pretty well with his vocals, and he seems to really get into the music. awesome band if you're into rock and that sort of thing.

another Canadian band . boy those Canadians really have great taste in music, from country to rock it don't matter, I am glad they are our neighbors. OH CANADA

I love these guys! Kevin has the most amazing voice! And all their songs are so deep and meaningful!

i feel so connected to this band i understand the pain they sing with, real live emotion and never holding back their darker side ,they are simply beautiful to me.

I discovered these guys a couple of years ago,but I forgot about them and I here their song "cold" all the time on the radio, but I never knew it was them. They are awesome.
