Fleet Foxes
Biography
Seattle's Fleet Foxes are led by vocalist/guitarist Robin Pecknold, who fashioned his band's earthy, harmony-rich sound in honor of such perennial '60s artists as Bob Dylan, Neil Young, the Zombies, and the Beach Boys. Mixing baroque pop with elements of classic rock and British folk, the band took shape in 2006 as Pecknold was joined by guitarist Skyler Skjelset, bassist Bryn Lumsden, drummer Nicholas Peterson, and keyboardist Casey Wescott. After playing only a handful of shows, the band generated a healthy amount of label interest and caught the attention of local producer Phil Ek, who had previously helmed records by Built to Spill and the Shins. Ek worked with the band on its Sun Giant EP, which was issued by Sub Pop Records in spring 2008. The band's self-titled debut full-length followed that summer. ~ Kenyon Hopkin & Andrew Leahey, All Music Guide

i'd die & be brought back to life again that'd be thee epiphany of cool concerts |

have no idea what he's saying below... but every time it rains I'll blast "Blue Ridge Mountains" from the depths of my lonely corner and the rain will stop, and the sun will shine. It's ridiculous, three out of three times so far... though due to some sentiment on my part, I think it works better during the day.

pandora thinks if i make a sleater-kinn e y station, whic h i did, and they are from portland or at least lived there, then i need fleet foxes from seattle. regional thinking ? stupid thinking.hea r d the lead singer sang in his side group at old ironsides in sacramento and cried like a baby because people weren't paying enough attention.wh e n you're really really good(im from sacramento)t h e n we'll pay attention.

I actually fell in chemical love with these guys. The sound is incredible. No matter how many times I listen to it (which is a lot), I still get that endorphine rush.
One of the best bands around right now...I love these guys. "She Got Dressed," "Blue Ridge Mountains" and "White Winter Hymnal" are some of my faves by them.
I heard about this band on the Brian Wilson That Lucky Old Sun DVD. Definitely a Brian Wilson influence but they sound a lot like Band Of Horses, whom I love, also.
Love these guys. My favorite band along with Band of Horses. Amazing, haunting sound that goes right through you. I'd love to see them put together a concept album. Tell all your friends about Fleet Foxes!

I saw the Fleet Foxes at the Electric Factory, and they were the most amazing band I have ever had the pleasure to experience. Every chord was just perfect. I was in awe.
Lollapalooza was amazing...a chilly rainy Friday accompanied by some beautiful music, fantastic.
I discovered them on SNL and now I have both of the albums that they've released already!
Hearing them for the first time. Striking. I also love thir name and their album covers.
these guys are amazing in everything they do! I want to meet them some day! So natural and easy to listen to! They need to make a new album, it would be even greater!
I just discovered these guys a few months ago, thanks to the LA Times. Their harmonies make me happy. Some of it sounds like it was recorded in a cathedral or something. Lush.
Wow, great music. They were on SNL? I'm going to have to check that out. I've seen some of the best new (read: different) acts on popular shows like SNL and Dave Letterman lately.
I can listen to Fleet Foxes over and over all day long. Amazing and definitely in my top 3.
amazing snl performance. . . w a t c h i n g that I guessed Crosby Stills Nash Young as major influence. i want more

To Abigail: The Beach Boys were seminally surf, they were more folky and harmonic than most people realize. The Beach Boys had beautiful and intricate melodic harmonies. Yes, Fleet Foxes are more CSNY than Beach Boys, but in interviews, Pecknold said that the Beach Boys are one of his influences.
i like em-tiger mountain peasant song is enthralling- h e s a good singer-sorta in the vein of brightback mountain.
Reminds me of CSNY, but more modern and slick, of course. Really beautiful stuff.
this band totally rocks but i do not see how they are compared to the beach boys. They have a folkly vibe and not a surf like vibe and the beach boys are totally lame and Fleet Foxes kick a**! and if anyone who has read twilight the song 'your protector' is perfect for jacob's side of the story in book four Breaking Dawn. Go Fleet Foxes! i'll be watching
