Fort Minor
Biography
In November 2005, Linkin Park co-founder Mike Shinoda debuted as a solo artist with Rising Tied, an ambitious collection credited to his alter ego, Fort Minor, that blended hip-hop with electronics and rock elements. The set was exec-produced by Jay-Z, who had previously collaborated with Shinoda and Linkin Park on 2004's Collision Course. Tied also featured plenty of guests like Common and John Legend, as well as newer artists from Shinoda's Machine Shop imprint. The album was a labor of love for the Linkin Park MC. Not only did he produce and mix it, but Shinoda played 99 percent of the instruments; did all the sequencing and programming; and wrote some very personal raps about his life, youth, and family. "Kenji" was a standout, exploring the experience of Japanese-American internees during World War II. The track featured recordings of Shinoda's relatives discussing their experiences in the camps. ~ Johnny Loftus, All Music Guide

I always loved linkin park, but I was pretty excited when Mike went solo.

They did release another CD, though it isn't listed. Its called "We Major".

love this person!
I don't like how the bio left out the two Memebers of Styles of Beyond (Tak & Ryu)
Only one album.
That's sad... They should make more! |
better with linkin park, but as a solo artist, really good. I like Remember the Name and Where'd you go. I only listen to rap that talks about life, and Fort Minor, Eminem, and Lupe Fiasco do just that
Fort Minor is amazing. Why did he stop making albums?? My favorite song is Remember the Name. I always listen to it before a game and it pumps me up. When my best friend moved I listened to Where'd You Go? and it fit my mood perfectly. Fort Minor really knows how to connect with all of us. I wish that he made more albums.
clean the crap out of you ears and listen to the whole album that music kicks a** the rising tied is better than any other album i have heard that includes minuts to midnight. he should make another album , i mean this dude could make millions
The Rising Tied isnt a really good album besides remember the name and believe me the rest of the albums garbage. I still like Mike Shinoda but he should stay with Linkin Park.
My only wish is that Mike Shinoda had continued creating albums as Fort Minor.

Rap is the perfect product to sell to unguided young males who've little or no reference in their lives for what it is to be a 'Man'. These young men are told it's to be a 'Thug' who has money, women, and 'Respect'.
Rap is a sad sub genre of hip hop whose presence has managed to foul the entire genre. |
Yeah, I don't like rap. Rap could be considered a very specific segment of hip hop, that being the commercially fed THUG "drawling and babbling status quo".
Generally speaking the beats are unoriginal (ie ripped or purchased from legitimate artists), the lyrics are if not painful then at the least uninspired, and the "voice" of 90% of rap artists is a simple clone of the very same thug drawl. Continued. |

um.. nikukao.. i think that you are thinking to much.. just sit back and listen to the music..
i like the album too.. !! |
