Framing Hanley
Biography
Formed in 2005 in White House, TN, Framing Hanley initially played a blend of post-grunge and stylish hard rock under the name Embers Fade. High-school friends Chris Vest (drums) and Luke McDuffe (bass) met vocalist Kenneth Nixon upon entering college, while guitarists Brandon Wooten and Tim Huskinson joined the lineup soon after. Embers Fade retreated to Vest's basement to write songs and create demo records, which they later used to solicit help from former Creed bassist Brett Hestla. Impressed with the band's sound, Hestla served as an early mentor and helped nurture the musicians' songwriting. More good luck came in 2007 as the band inked a contract with Silent Majority Group, an independent label based in Florida.
After adopting a new name that paid tribute to Ashley Hanley, a close friend who had died in a car accident in late 2006, Framing Hanley retreated to the studio to record The Moment in six short weeks. Taking its cues from the likes of 30 Seconds to Mars and 3 Doors Down, the debut album melded ballads with post-grunge anthems; it also won support from outlets like Sirius Radio, which helped boost the band's profile. Huskinson exited the band in 2008 and was replaced by guitarist Ryan Belcher, who joined just in time to record a cover version of Lil Wayne's "Lollipop." Retooling the rapper's risqué song with hard-edged vocals and heavy guitars, the band soon logged over a million plays on MySpace with the tune, which was released as a single in October 2008. ~ Andrew Leahey, All Music Guide

Very talented band, that derserves more recognition. I found them here on Pandora. Built for Sin came across one of my stations, and I loved the song. So I found their album, and Im glad I did. Really good stuff. IMO, Lollipop sucks compared to their stuff on their album.

you guys are so immature. i listend to them before, but some people only like sertian songs by bands. i lisnened tp P!ATD before they were even famous, and same with paramore, and cobra starship.
Like it really matters who liked this lame a** pop rock band first, if your going to argue over whose the biggest fan atleast let it be over a band thats relevant and deserving.
babybri377, that is a lame comment. Some people do not have time to constantly be searching for new bands to listen to, they have jobs or school to pay attention to. So they rely on public radio and mass media to serve it up, and only get exposed to bands who become popular because of it. At least they have their priorities straight. I am sure the members of Framing Hanley love all their fans equally, pre- or -post "Lollipop", which is a very innovative twist on another popular song. They made a

They changed their name in remembrance of a fallen friend... that's very moving, I did not know that...
Framing Hanley is far better than people think. I loved them before Lollipop. All those people that jumped on once they did Lollipop are lame.
I got into Framing Hanley because of "Home", not "Lollipop".
i just went to see them at the orange peel in asheville nc and i think they are all great!! veryy hott band!!! :-)
Great band, that got a lot more fans due to their lollipop being such a hit(better than the orignal lollipop that's for sure).

um... I liked them way before lollipop Kyle!!and I liked them the first time I herd them (which was on my satalight radio) dont here much of anything BUT lollipop on the terrestrial radio. But I think they are really good!
their first song I heard was Home, which is my fav by FH. I didn't hear Lollipop until much later.
Framing Hanely is not a very good band. and the only reason everyone is saying there totally awesome is because of their one hit single Lollipop which was a remade song!!!!!! heres the thing people, if you have to steal someones elses song to get someone to like you that band just sucks!
don't worry, Cate. I'm already planning to buy The Moment. :)
I'm supporting these guys! |
The original Lollipop they created was absolutely fantastic. The new one is still awesome, don't get me wrong, they just shouldn't have remixed it twice...
Beyond that, LISTEN TO THEIR ALBUM. Everyone looooves Lollipop, but I got their album as soon as it came out digitally and absolutely fell in love with their sound and Nixon's voice. They're the sweetest kids too. Do the music business a favor and promote a band that (for once) deserves it. |
I really like the Lollipop remix but so far my favorite of their songs is 23 Days. I got to see them at Pointfest and Nixon is so hot!
Lollipop - hate the lyrics. but it's rock not rap. that cancels out the horrid lyrics any day of the week! weird, I know.
i like the remix of lillipop better with Kenneth! i hate the rap version!
Ville Valo's hotter!! XD
but yeah, Kenneth's not too bad looking! ;D |
Lollipop is awesome song and Kenneth Nixon is hot!
thanks for the clear-up Max! :)
you really confused me. and I totally agree with you. Lollipop is AWESOME! XD |
??? that's your opinion, Max...
call me a mainstreamer , but lollipop... it's like alien ant farm taking a fairly mediocre MJ song, and turning it into a fairly good metal song, only replacing the word "fairly" with "hugely", and flipping respective artists around.
to clarify: i'm saying the remake of lollipop kicks a** and takes name. death to rap please >.< |
damnn i love theemmmm. awesome musiccc. and yeah, their version of lollipop is wayy better. their instrumental s are amazing.
they are very good. saw them with pop evil in concert with theory of a deadman. my band also opened up for them once.

I effin love this band. they're the best. got Nixon's autograph after going to my second show. they love their fans, and are really awesome live. I heart FH!!
