Fred Smith
Selected Discography
As a fellow Australian ex-pat who has lived in the D.C. area, I connect with your music, Fred/Iain. It does give you an outsider's perspective (which I'd say can be more objective) while experiencing American culture and society first-hand. I love the story-tellin g quality of these songs, and how brutally honest you are about your own life.

Hey, you don't even need a hundred dollar gig. I just heard American Guitar and you have a new fan. Ignore the haters, you have talent- your songs have made my evening.

Insulting the tax-payers of America and pandering to the tax-receiver s is not a good way to sell tickets or CDs. Not to mention that the last election clearly showed that those you ARE pandering to don't have the mental capacity to discern your jokes.

Interesting hearing an Aussie's take on America - I think you squarely hit the mark. Come on people - our leader is an idiot who has put our people and our world in jeodardy, and I say good riddance. Thanks Fred, AKA Iain, for your insightful lyrics.

Really nice job. I don't agree with his assessment of our American President, who I feel has kept us quite safe for the past 8 years, but the song itself was creative. I would buy his CDs :>)

Fred,
Your guitar playing could be improved unless that was the sound you were going for; that I'm just learning how to play sound. Your vocals are not that good; kind of an I'm whispering and talking, not singing. Your lyric writing skills could use some improvement, monkey...com e on now. If you want to learn how to write a thought provoking protest song listen to some Dylan. He makes you leave the song wondering... w a s he talking about me? Not so good guitar playing, not so good vocals, ly |
