One Day At A Time

Sounds nothing like Isis to me...I'm assuming all of you are referring to "Panopticon, " or maybe (maybe) even "In the Absence of Truth?" Old Isis albums were heavier, more aggressive, and even their newer stuff still has elements of power and aggression.. . T h e y do more with dynamics and contrast, tempo, atmospherics , etc...
BTW: Robert, I agree with your statement about a lot of the instrumental metal bands being influenced by the same people (IE: Neurosis). |

I first I thought listen I thought this was Isis. I like the style and mood of this, however it is in danger of having no separate identity from the rest of instrumental bands of this nature. But then again, that's the double edge sword to face: try to be creative through certain inspiration but distinct enough to stand out. All around good effort.

very mookish. why do people insist on leaving insulting comments? thats what the thumbs down button is for. just connect and save the disrespect and negativity for a whiners blog. move on haters, haters move along

this band is good. the problem with instrumental bands is that they've all been influenced by the same guys, so its hard to stray away from the long-drawn-o u t - l o u d - q u i e t - l o u d formula, but for what it is, it sounds cool, like something I recognize from something I've heard. there will always be the pioneers, though,and bands like this you can easily hear their influences.

stevestrab, you are a mook. why don't you go listen to another mogwai album and leave the good music to the rest of us.
|
||
Their songs go nowhere and have no purpose. They play dreamy music but lack the emotion that makes a band like this great.

Gonna have to agree with thesubtlecha n g e . first time i heard this blew me away.

fantastic!
Similar to Mogwai, minus those inaudible and long-winded segues they feel compelled to throw in to practically every song. |

an orgasm in my ears... i was hoping this kind of music was being played somewhere in the world
