H -Town
Biography
One of the big surprises of 1993 was this vocal group, who emerged from the stable of 2 Live Crew creator Luther Campbell. H-Town's single "Knockin' Da Boots" established the group as part of the new breed of Urban Contemporary vocal groups hearkening back to vintage soul rather than New Jack swing as their inspiration. ~ Ron Wynn, All Music Guide

Great group and you are 100% correct about the 90's era R&B being golden. H-town,Keith , Early R.Kelly,Xsca p e , B o y z I I M e n ect. Too bad about Dino, great singer.
I'm only 21, but I definitely remember the timeless & classic H-Town sound. I only wish I had been of age during the 90s because it was truly the "golden age" of R&B. Not to discredit any of today's artists (Anthony Hamilton, Raheem Devaughn, Dwele) but H-Town, Jodeci, and other groups like them set the standard for what smooth R and B should be. God Bless this group and the family of Dino; we all truly lost someone who held a special place in our hearts.

The ironic thing about Gino dying is that in their "Emotions" video, he was the one who protrayed dying in a car accident and years later it actually happened. I haven't seen the "Emotions" video in years, and when I saw it this morning I couldn't believe the coincidence with his death.
How iroinic is it that H-Town has a song called "The Day I Die" and soon after making the song, the lead singer dies.
The album Beggin' After Dark was the cd I played out. Indo Love was my favorite song. This group will ALWAYS be remembered.
The lead singer died in a car accident with his girlfriend after a session in the studio. He has been dead for almost four years. They were coming out with another CD and he died during the process. I'm not sure if the girlfriend was killed but I think she did. No one did any kind of tribute for him, I was really disappointed . . . . s h a m e on the R&B world

One of the twins, right? That's talent waste, Left Eye, Aliah, Marvin, and on and on! RIP
