Halestorm
Biography
Siblings Elizabeth and Arejay Hale, the core members of the hard rock band Halestorm, began the group in late 1997 near York, PA, with Arejay on drums and Elizabeth on vocals and keyboard. Wanting to expand their sound, the duo invited their father, Roger, to play bass for Halestorm. Soon after their first professional gig in 1998, at the Blue Mountain Coffee House in Hershey, PA, the band added various guitar players and released an album, 2000's (Don't Mess with The) Time Man. More lineup changes occurred, but Halestorm finally solidified with Elizabeth (who was by then going by Lzzy) on vocals and guitar, Josh Smith on bass, Arejay on drums, and Joe Hottinger on guitar. The band caught the attention of producer David Ivory as well as Atlantic Records, both of whom were involved in the band's major-label debut, One and Done, the five-song EP recorded live at a show in Philadelphia. ~ Marisa Brown, All Music Guide

Heard them on 93.3,phila., P A this summer and went to the Shine Down concert in Phila,PA on 8/30/09. Halestorm opened up and they were great! Lzzy is a true rocker and she can really sing. It was an amazing concert/surp r i s e and most awesome band to see. Can't wait to see them again in Philly:)

Most amazing band with a female lead singer and guitarist since the 80's. They are like Heart, Joan Jett and Pat Benatar all rolled into one. I heard one of their songs on my car radio for the first time and went strait to buy the CD. They are going to be at Freakers Ball 2009, Grand Prairie, TX - 10/23/2009.

I ended up buying the album (it's awesome!), but don't think I'm not still miffed that you aren't playing them more often Pandora radio station!
|
||
Gah! Their song Nothing To Do With Love came up on my station and I loved it... and now Pandora hasn't seen fit to play anything else of theirs even though I thumbed that up and then added them as a music seed! Curse my ridiculously eclectic radio station, curse it I say.
Looking forward to whenever Pandora decides to stop taking its sweet time and finally plays some more of their work. |

This band used to live up the street from me in Windsor, PA. I've seen them come a long way. I can't believe how successful they have become! Rock on Halestorm...

A hard rock band with awesome female vocals, it's about time! Bummed i missed them in concert with Shinedown May 26. I hope they come back to the Omaha, Ne area soon.

Saw them live at the Tabernacle in Atlanta, GA on 5/5/09. Lzzy is an AMAZING vocalist. She reminds me of a young Steve Perry (think "Dream On"). At the end of their set they brought out a set of quads (4 drums on stands) and each band member played one. It was awesome and really got the crowd pumped up.

||
i saw them at tinks when trapt was in concert and izzy is so cool she gave me one of the bracelets she had on at the concert after it was over !!!!

I stumbled upon One & Done and fell in love with Halestorm's sound. My only suggestion for the next album is more focus on the vocal skills of Lzzy. And of course, more cowbell!!
|
||
They're really good, I love the single "I Get Off" that's currently in rotation on 93.3 WMMR in Philadelphia .

I got to meet Lzzy and the rest of the guys at a show. They rocked on stage and were so nice and real in person. We need more bands out there that sound like them. They were also fans as well as musicians! Love this band!!!
