Halford
Biography
As the incomparable voice of thrashing beast Judas Priest, Rob Halford defined the role of the metal frontman. After his unamiable departure from the British juggernaut, Halford formed Fight with Priest drummer-come-lately Scott Travis. Fight released three powerful records, Halford straining to remain the masthead of the heavy rock movement he created. Two, a trendy electro-exercise with Trent Reznor, took two steps back on the misguided Voyeurs. Halford returned to his roots and formed a new unit, simply dubbed Halford, with guitarists Patrick Lachman and Mike Chlasciak, bassist Ray Riendeau, and drummer Bobby Jarzombek. Halford rebounded with his band at the turn of the century, releasing the aptly titled Resurrection, a no-nonsense manifesto from a true metal legend. Halford hit the road opening for disciples Queensrÿche and Iron Maiden before beginning a headlining tour, documented on Live Insurrection. In 2002, Crucible arrived quickly after their tour ended, even featuring two bonus tracks that were originally not going to be included. ~ Doug Stone, All Music Guide

Halford is the indisputable Metal God. Period. Anything he does is worth listening to and if you can see him in concert, do it. His voice will remain with you forever. He is that good. F**k, dont tell anybody, but i'd blow him. He earned it. 4 decades of vicious metal. It's Halford for god's sake! Anyone remember Maiden opening up for Priest in 84'? Historical show.

I don't give a s**t if he's gay or not. The music rocks. If you don't like it GTFO!!!!!!!! ! ! ! ! !

Rob Halford is awesome! Saw him (Judas Priest) in 91 w/ megadeth and testament, and just saw him (Judas Priest) again last year, Nostradamus tour w/ Heaven and Hell, Motorhead, and testament. Havent heard much of the solo stuff, but what I have heard ROCKS.
All you small minded homo-phobes need to STFU! and go somewhere else. |

Freddie Mercury was bisexual, not gay. That's beside the point, Rob just rocks period!
|
||
i agree who care if Mercury and Halford or even Elton John were gay they still made great music (well maybe not Elton John lol)
|
||
halford was gay, but that doesn't change the fact he owned metal. plenty of musical GODS were gay. take Freddy Mercury from Queen for example.

Hey "Homodeus2" what else have you got to comment?...
If that's it you need to just Shut The Phuck Up! I bet your back door swings both ways...Putz! Metal God Rules! |

People with a clue knew he was gay 20 years ago. Big deal. Awesome vocalist, and great frontman in the early days. Still great. Just saw Priest few weeks ago.

Halford is the METAL GOD!!! His voice is so amazing. Can't go wrong with Judas Priest of Halford.

I discovered this band by accident when I was DJing for my college radio station. Some days I get bored and start grabbing albums that have "metal" names and "metal" album covers and play the album title track. Then I talk about how I liked or hated them. Halford is pretty awesome. Pandora is pretty sweet to..I never knew so many bands I liked were side projects or had members of other bands I like.

Halford is amazing in the studio. Live, he was disappointin g . He looked intimidated by the scene when I saw Priest in the late 70's. Also, he tried to do lead and back-up vocals at the same time, wh/ sounded hurried and out of sync. But, his range is amazing, and legendary. Listen to Victim of Changes, and Dreamer Deceive for some classic examples.

GAy? So the f what? How is that relevant to the quality of his musicianship ? Pull-ease, grow the f up, would you?

||
Halford is a metal god. His voice is still pretty impressive, considering how long he's been screaming for.
|
||
Rob Halford is truely the reason James Hetfield and Bruce Dickinson picked up a microphone. Nobody does, has, or ever will scream metal better, period. Whether it's Priest, Fight, Halford, or in the shower, Halford is THE metal frontman of all time.

What an excellent vocalist. I am astounded by everything he does...Rob Halford is nearly unmatchable in skill.

Rob Halford in Fight was completely amazing. He's still excellent as Halford but Fight was just ridiculous.

Priest is classic metal, and most of it is good, but the real gem of his career (imho) is Fight's War of Words album. Wow, a metal masterpiece that still gets heavy rotation in my collection.
His solo work as Halford is surprisingly good too, not as heavy as Fight, but more talented vocally and musically instead of raw ferocity. I think somewhere between the two lies the greatest metal album yet to be recorded. |
