Haste The Day
Biography
The Indianapolis-based Christian metalcore band Haste the Day formed in 2001. Guitarist/vocalist Brennan Chaulk, his drummer brother Devin, and bassist/vocalist Mike Murphy originally gigged as a three-piece, but six months after the group's inception they added longtime friend Jason Barnes as a second guitarist, and after a series of auditions named Jimmy Ryan their lead vocalist. After self-releasing That They May Know You in 2002, Haste the Day signed to the Tooth & Nail label's Solid State subsidiary to issue their breakthrough LP, Burning Bridges, in the spring of 2004. They spent the year on shows with bands like As I Lay Dying and Zao, and their next album, When Everything Falls, appeared the following summer. In late 2005, Ryan announced his pending marriage and quit the band, playing his last show with them that December. A few months later, the remaining members of Haste the Day added new vocalist Stephen Keech, formerly of New Day Awakening. Pressure the Hinges arrived in March 2007, and the guys supported it on dates with From Autumn to Ashes and Maylene & the Sons of Disaster. ~ Jason Ankeny, All Music Guide

I love Haste The Day, but to be honest, I prefer Jimmy screaming than the new guy. But, it sees like they have redefined their sound on dreamer rather than trying to be a color copy of their earlier work with Jimmy. I really love Burning Bridges. Incredible!

They didn't 'use' to be good, they still are. Whoever says likewise is a close-minded idiot. They are and always will be awesome, case-in-poin t . New Singer= new flavor.

i miss jimmy too. he's the singer of a new band called trenches. check em out. if you are a "Beloved" Fan (awesome christian hardcore.... i m not christian by the way) check out Advent the drummers new band he sings....wel l growls....aw e s o m e voice!!

To all the haters who think this band is lame because they're Christians: I listen to black metal bands like Dimmu Borgir, 1349, Ulver, and Mayhem. But I still think Haste the Day is awesome. I also like bands like NOFX (who think religion is a joke), Agnostic Front, and Eyehategod.

This band is awesome. My favorite song of theirs (or anybody's) is Stitches. Awesome music with great lyrics as well.

Haste the has been my favorite band since I heard their first album back in like 02 or so. Being a very religious christian my self makes them that much better. I have seen them 6 times in concert with the 7th coming up next month. Their sets never get old. Having actually spoken with members of the band it's great to see that they do actually believe in what they sing about. Why would you listen to something you didn't like? And better yet, why wouold you get on a forum to argue and complain about a band? In my opinion, if you hate the fact that their Christian, then get over it, and don't listen to them. Forget about them. Personally, I've never heard of a Christian Metalcore band, but its cool, I think. And Raver, do you ALWAYS start with crap on every forum? It took me forever to read the As I Lay Dying forum, and guess who seemed to supply plenty of the debate on god there? You. No one is making anyone listen to something they don't like. Thats speaking to everyone.

I love HTD. Why isn't Burning Bridges in the Selected Dicography? That and When Everything Falls are their best albums.

I hate how people pick what music to listen to over if it is or isn't christian. If you like the guitar and the bass and the drums and the screaming and how they work together, I don't think it makes a big difference at all.

In the beggining music was created for God...It is time that music is retured to God...Rock, Heavy Metal, country, rap, ect.ect.
