Hatebreed
Biography
The New Haven, CT-based Hatebreed got together in 1993 for the purpose of creating a "back to basics" hardcore band with heavy, metallic guitars, screaming vocals, and 30-second songs. Consisting of Jamey Jasta (vocals), Lou "Boulder" Richards (guitar), Chris Beattie (bass), Sean Martin (guitar), and Rigg Ross (drums), Hatebreed had the chance to play throughout the East Coast while sharing the stage with the likes of Entombed, the Deftones, Slayer, and Napalm Death. By 1997, Victory Records released the quintet's debut full-length, entitled Satisfaction Is the Death of Desire. The group signed with Stillborn/Republic/Universal for 2002's Perseverance and 2003's Rise of Brutality. Supremacy arrived on Roadrunner Records in 2006, featuring new guitarist Frank Novinec (who'd previously spent time playing with Ringworm, Terror, and Integrity). Guitarist Wayne Lozinak joined the band in 2008. The band released For the Lions, a covers album, in May of 2009, followed by a new, self-titled studio album in September. ~ Mike DaRonco, All Music Guide

You guys should hear the collaboratio n with Kirk Windstein of Crowbar called Kingdom of Sorrow. It's f**kin bad a**!!!!
I like these guys, but after a few songs I need a break. I would like to see Jamey mix it up atleast a little, but that is these guys' style, relentless. It seems like that is their demeanor too.
The collaboratio n between Jamey and the lead singer from E-town Concrete on Battle Lines is fukkin badass!!! If you like these guys, you need to hear that song!!! |
I saw them live with Slayer, also got a free 3 song cd. I thought the CD and their live act SUCKED!
This discography is incomplete. 2000s Under the Knife is one album put out by Hatebreed early in their career that is not listed here. It is one of their best pieces of work. Their first drummer, Jeff Mielcarz (i think I got the spelling right) displays his talents on that album. He later left the band for reasons unknown.
Before hearing their music, I thought they where nu metal. The look too much like Limp Bizkit.
Probably the most one dimensional, singular.... m o n o t o n e sound in all of metal. But theyre not bad. They definately rock.
Just prefer a bit more substance in my metal. |
JUST hardcore and thrash. last time i seen them live i got k.o. d in the mosh pit. and my shoe hit phil from pantera during his set with down. still have that shoe. it was a greAT DAY.
IF YOU LIKE HATEBREED THEN YOU'LL LOVE RINGWORM AND MOST OF ALL INTEGRITY THEY ARE BY FAR THE BEST BAND EVER. HATEBREED HAD THE HONOR OF PLAYING WIHT THEM. GOOD LUCK FINDING ANY INTEGRITY ON PANDORA. IF YOU FIND THEM ELSEWARE? BEST ALBUMS ARE: THOSE WHO FEAR TOMORROW-INT E G R I T Y 2000-DEN OF INIQUITY-SYS T E M S OVERLOAD AND HUMANITY IS THE DEVIL. BEST BAND EVER BY FAR TRY TO FIND THEM.
Hey give them a break they probably don't realize how sold out MTV is. MTV used to be an Honor, but now it is the epitome of trashy reality TV and a lot of materialism I can't stand.
Are these guys Straight Egde or just hardcore? Does Hardcore automaticall y equal straight egde? Forgive my ignorance. I enjoy drinking, and doing other thing that straight egde people would not do. Their music is pretty-not-b a d .
Give me your broken, give me your beaten, I will build them up, I will lead them, to the threshold... p r o v i n g the point it doesnt matter who you are, where you come from, what you look like, everyone is equal and anyone who says otherwise can go f**k themselves ha ha ha
I wonder if these guys played for the Yalies while in New Haven... Maybe crashed a few "Skull and Crossbones" (underground Yale ss group) secret society parties and tore it up. That'd be a freakin' riot!
Under The Knife and Satisfaction Is The Death Of Desire are their 2 best albums, but I really like Perseverance and Rise of Brutality. Supremacy just didn't do much for me. Looking forward to their next offering though.
Smash Your Enemies damn right!
these guys are the undisputed rulers of the pit. At Ozzfest O7 they literally had like 90% of the crowd in a circle pit. Frigin brutal.
Where is Satisfaction is the Death of Desire on here, clearly their best CD. Every song is brutal, and straight to the point.
they need to get all of hatebreeds cd's on here. the first couple are the best. in my humble opinion. the new one is up there though
I've seen Hatebreed like 13 times and they keep getting better and better def in my top 5 for bands
man theres not much to say about these guys besides outstanding seen em five times now always awsome new stuff still kicks a**, nothing beats satisfaction is the death of desire.
i love heavy metal. i like hatebreed. i can only listen to a couple of songs before i turn it off, needs more variety to keep my attention.
Vash! You forgot Full Blown Chaos in your list of awesome NYHC bands.
cts- no, you shouldn't comment unless you want to be schooled in music knowledge. try reading the post again before you open your mouth. then again, you're probably 13 and know very little about music in general.
hatebreed is bad a**, vash the stampede put ACDC and Hatebreed in the same subject, LOL, i just better not comment
This isn't too bad, but all the songs are the same- ala AC/DC (save for the obvious different styles of music, but you get the point). Same sound, different song. Doesn't mean it's bad, just means it's very limited and can't grow organically like many other hard core bands can and have. NYHC is where the "real" hard core is. Get into it- i.e. Agnostic Front, Sick of it All, Madball, Vision of Disorder (VOD), Bloodsimple, etc.
