Hellyeah
Biography
Heavy metal "supergroup" Hellyeah formed in 2006 in Dallas, TX, around the talents of Mudvayne's Chad Gray (vocals) and Greg Tribbett (guitar), Nothingface's Tom Maxwell (guitar) and Jerry Montano -- the latter also played with Danzig -- and Pantera/Damageplan drummer Vinnie Paul Abbott. The group's debut self-titled debut was released in April 2007 on Epic Records. ~ James Christopher Monger, All Music Guide

to end it all: yes they're making a new album some time in 2010. pantera is not getting back together because 1 vinnie wouldn't disgrace his brother like that and 2 every pantera fan would automaticall y hate them for doing it without dime. no vinnie has not sold out at all, these guys are an incredible band with talented musicians. dime would be proud of him. one more thing, dimebag darrell was the greatest metal guitarist ever. RIP brother. Getcha Pull.

HELLYEA IS A F**KING JOKE and makes Vinnie and Dime (RIP) look bad. Hey Vinnie get back with Phil and rex and stop trying to sell out!!!!!
***This band uses explicit lyrics and made it past the filter***
Sorry, I'm going to be this guy, but I know there are others out there that would like to know. PS - Saw them with Korn, Evanescence and Flyleaf at Spac in NY, not really impressed. |
is chad (vocals from Mudvayne) the singer for hellyeah or not? I DNT KNOW!!!!!!NE E D ANSWER!!!! (please)
The fact that they put most of these artists pisses me off, cause everything but Mudvayne sounds very different
the fact that they put tool in the similar artists pisses me off, there completley different.
hellyeah is a great new sound in the rapidly narrowing view of the metal genre. They easily fill the space between hard rock and straight up death metal. With the amazing array of musicians Hellyeah brings to the table, I'm sure they will be a well rooted musical force for years to come.
When are you going to make a new album? hellyeah is the best and if ur a "real" musician you'll know that and they are really good live but that big a** 400 lb. indian native should have stopped stomping on my feet and elbowing me in the ribs damnit and i do have autographs get your whiskey and weed hellyeah
you morons have obviously never listened to tool! hellyeah still kicks a** though
Seen them live they where great want to see them again.Vinnie Paul is a f**king beast on the drums. And yes they way better than tool.tool only has one good song Sober
How the hell does Hell Yeah sound like Tool?!?!? Hell yeah is SOOOOO much better then Tool!!!
Whether you like it, love it, or hate ill listen to HELLYEAH over Tupac any day..id be glad if you did too
I like Hellyeah to an extent but this band makes me miss David Allen Coe's band with Dime bag Darrel called Rebel Meets Rebel. You guys should give that a listen if you sort of like this. Cowboys Do More Dope is a kickass song from Rebel Meets Rebel so check it out.
its true that a good bit of "supergroups " arent as talented as theyre origional bands but you gotta take into thought, damageplan, and mudvayne are two differnt bands that play two different genre's of music, not to mention that nothing face also has its differences. but what im saying is that supergroups always try to bring styles from theyre other bands into the new one, and it doesnt alays work so good

"Hellyeah only has 2 "radio metal" songs. The rest of their stuff is too heavy for radio with the exclusion of one." crazycoolguy
um.. what? |
I really try to listen to Hellyeah but in the end I never like it. Too bad Vinnie.
hellyeah is kind of like that time that emmitt smith played running back for the arizona cardinals after the cowboys. he had a boat load of good years playing for the cowboys and kicked a lot of a**. then he goes to the cardinals after his career should have been over and has a few really crappy years. now everybody just wants to forget that it ever happened because it's embarrassing .
Hellyeah only has 2 "radio metal" songs. The rest of their stuff is too heavy for radio with the exclusion of one. Either way they really aren't even that good minus Tom Maxwell, which is an amazing guitarist. They are just fun to listen to.
I dont get what people see here. Just because some big name musicians get together and all their previous bands were good ..... doesnt mean this new "supergroup" is goin to be as good or better!? It may be exciting to hear on the radio but it will never be "heavy Metal" Maybe "radio Metal" at most...
Apparently I have the capacity to read. If I could not read, I would not be posting how dumb you are. Maybe if you had the capacity to spell correctly people would take you more seriously. You fail at everything music. Enjoy being laughed at while you stand proudly thinking you "Did a good job". Retard.
I like early mudvayne and pantera but the combo creates a band that f**king sucks
If you had the capacity to read, "crazycoolgu y ", you would understand that I claimed Mr. Gray substituted something that DID rhyme for something that would make sense simply for the sake of having a rhyme.
And Christian Olde Wolbers is known to use a 7-string guitar to achieve his low sound, with the extra string adding the "tightness" and clarity that one could expect from a 6-string, without sacrificing tone or muddying the mix. So you fail on two counts. My analysis stands as accurate. |
Wow...really ? You are dumb. I agree that this band is average, but you have to appreciate its over all effect. It has a good beat, good tone, and is just plain ol' fun to listen to. Lyrics don't have to rhym to be good. Phil Anselmo from Pantera never rhymed and Pantera was amazing. I could name numerous other bands that are amazing that don't rhyme in the lyrics. Oh, and by the way, you can never tune down too low. Fear Factory tunes to drop A and they are amazing as well.
Average in every single way: Hellyeah will continue to draw legions of fans with the mindset of, "lol omg hellyeh is teh best band eaver!! they'r so brutle!" because of the general public's fanatical worship of any and all things mediocre...a category which Hellyeah actually does excel in.
...entirely derrivative. To put it another way: They will be awarded no points for creativity by the judges. The lyrics suffer from a very similar fate. Mr. Gray too often substitutes something that rhyms for something that makes sense, often leaving a very choppy bunch of near-nonsens e which one would be hard pressed to find meaning in.
The album was thrown together on a whim in 3-4 weeks and it shows at every turn or the endeavor. Not even the great Vinnie Paul Abbott can save this one. |
Although they show a lot of heart and energy on stage, putting on a great show...their music leaves something to be desired.
They tune down far too low to make any sense...whic h not only is bad for the guitars, but muddies up their sound and forces the "Look how low we tune! We're hardcorz" view upon themselves, effectively substituting down-tuned guitars for good instrumental s in hopes of being more "metal". The riffs are simple though often catchy, but at ALL points in time they are enti |
it's not pantera nor mudvayne. but, i saw them in memphis and they kick a**!!!
whatever , give a break v paul , get it together . stop now or you know what happens . death to all concerned . be happy dont worry . life has just begun so you could not do better than this . try again
To say Hellya is Great... no. To say they're Horrible... no. Hellya is DIFFERENT. There will NEVER be another Dimebag, and there will never be another Pantera, get over it folks.
this is the ULTIMATE combo of badass musicians 2 hit the block in quite some time!!!!
HELLYEAH !!!!!!!! |
