Biography
Led by powerhouse vocalist Cassadee Pope, Hey Monday lace their infectious emo-pop with alt-rock guitars and slick studio production. The band formed in West Palm Beach, FL, where Pope was first discovered at a regional music conference. Although still in high school, the singer drew attention from A&R execs with her voice, which recalled the radio-ready wails of Avril Lavigne and Paramore's Hayley Williams. She then formed a band with fellow teenagers Jersey Moriarty (bass), Elliot James (drums), and guitarists Mike Gentile and Alex Lipshaw. Shedding their original name (Blake) in favor of Hey Monday, the group won over A&R exec Jay Harren, who signed the band to Columbia Records. Hey Monday then entered the recording studio with S*A*M & Sluggo, the production team behind albums by Metro Station and the Academy Is..., and readied the release of their debut record. Just had the bessssst weekend! Sat in line for 7hrs. (but i got front row! wooo!) to see Hey Monday && FTSK. Then it poured when the concert finally started! so now im sunburnt with a cold! hahaha. How was ur holiday guys? :) |

paramore and hey monday are both awesome, but they r still in two different leagues so why compare them? paramore is like practiaclly ancient, but still totally amazing, and hey monday is extrememly new. like 2008 new. so just hold tight.

Alright guys and gals. We get it. Some of you think they sound like Paramore. Some of you don't. Can we just agree that Hey Monday is an awesome band and Cassadee has an incredible voice? That would be great.

Okay. This really annoys me. Cassadee and Hayley and both REALLY talented. They both sing REALLY good live. But I'd have to say Cassadee is just a little bit better.

Paramore and Hey Monday have differnt sounds. It's just people say they're similar because they're female fronted. But that's like saying Cannibal Corspe and The Jonas Brothers are similar because they're all guys. I love Hey Monday, but I also like hard rock, punk, grunge and emo. Nothing wrong with pop though.

Hey monday and paramore are very equal like exactally the same in music quality but cassadee has better vocals and haley has better make up lol. Hey monday and Paramore are almost exactally the same so you have no part 2 B**** about it.

Number one: Hey Monday and Paramore are equal, but Cassadee has a better voice with a better range. Number two: Fame doesn't matter, what does matter is that people care about the music. Why leave a comment if you hate them? Give a reason. Yeah, Hey Monday is pop, but they've just begin. And Hey Monday has nothing in common, really, with Paramore except that their female fronted. Paramore's not even that famous. All the poseurs only know the songs on the radio. So back off. I don't want Hey Monday to be mainstream. I want them on the edge of it, so the loyal fans are there for them. Think before you comment, poser. |

I have fallen in love with this band. I like them AT LEAST as much as Paramore. I love them both, because they have just different enough sounds that they're quite separate... but I love them. And Cassadee is so pretty!

I doubt they SOUND like Paramore. They don't. Though they're female led, Hayley's voice is grittier, Cassadee's is prettier. Either way, I love them both. I can't wait to see them in May!

I'm seeing them with Fall Out Boy. Cassadee is pretty cool. I like this band. Poppy punk, but interesting metaphors in their songs.
