Hinder
Biography
Hinder began crafting cocky, raucous post-grunge in the early 2000s, when Oklahoma City residents Joe Garvey and drummer Cody Hanson found Austin Winkler singing cover songs at a college party. The three formed the nucleus of Hinder, and the group started landing gigs opening locally for such bands as Theory of a Deadman. Lineup changes brought guitarist Mark King and bassist Mike Rodden into the fold, and the quintet signed with Universal after issuing a self-released EP. Their 2005 full-length debut, Extreme Behavior, became one of the year's most popular albums, climbing to triple-platinum status and sending "Lips of an Angel" to number three on the singles charts. Hinder returned several years later with a second batch of party anthems entitled Take It to the Limit. ~ Johnny Loftus, All Music Guide

oh no i didn't mean it like that...i'm talking about music intelligence . no of course stupid people don't listen to classical music. they just are stupid when it comes to th music they listen to.

"what type of music do you like? classical? something soulless like that? do all of us intelligent people a favor and shut up."
Haha, did Reckless Self Indulgence imply that Hinder is for intelligent people and classical music is for stupid people? Because I'm pretty sure that'd be like saying Dora the Explorer is for adults and Debbie Does Dallas is for toddlers. |

My woman hates this song, but I freakin love it. I think that some women hate the fact that most men are tempted by someone else. The lyrics don't even allude to him cheating... just tempted by the possibilitie s . Besides, the song itself is great. Love the CD too.

THIS BAND IZ THE BOMB!!!!!!!! ! ! ! ! ! ! UR MY FAV BAND

I have met some members of HInder, and they were awesome. I was their waitress at Red Robin the day after they played at MGM (I was at the show, and I had a great time, they put on a great show). They were very nice, normal, guys, besides the fact that they were unmistakably rock stars. Why do people feel the need to be mean to musicians just because it might not be their favorite flavor of music? And to 'freeviolini s t ' you are retarded. They probably get to do lots of drugs, but most definitel

Just won a contest today for "Best Lips" but didnt know who these guys were, now I will meet them backstage and dont really know if I want too..HMMMM anyone want my backstage passes. Cause these Angel Lips dont want to go. Misogyny runs amuck at all moments in this patriarchal society. Speaking purely as a Feminist living in this hierarchy of power.
im trying to figure out which drug the lead singers on...its either meth or crack.
kaleidoscope your question is were your problem lies in your comment is why you are confused you imagine the characters of the song and they are atractive but hinder they are ugly scumbags unfortunatly you are looking for help on pandora when you need profesional help you wako nut job
Kaleidoscope . . . i t s probably because the songs are about your life...I have met these guys...great guys...They have worked hard to get there unlike a lot of bands out there that are bigger...
i agree if you dont like this music then why is it on yr station? hinder isnt bad..not really my favorite
kaleidoscope , what type of music do you like? classical? something soulless like that? do all of us intelligent people a favor and shut up. go listen to your 'art' somewhere where we can't hear it.
Whenever I hear a song on the radio and listen to its lyrics, I tend to picture all of the subjects/cha r a c t e r s of the song as very attractive people. However, whenever I hear a song by Hinder, all of the characters are dirty ugly scumbags.
I wonder why this is?! |
Okay then. Hinder probably love women, but they don't like the things women have done to them. This is my other theory.
Okay, what rock band doesn't sing about women and drinking? Look at Motley Crue, the are known world wide. Hinder recently toured with the Crue, Theory of a Deadman and some little known band the Last Vegas. All of those bands have the same theme, but everyone still loves them. Just because you sing about it doesn't mean you actually treat women like that. Austin, the singer, just got married and has not cheated on his wife. So you can sing about whatever you please.
I know Hinder has the right to sing about having fun, but you can have fun without degradation. Why do so many bands in this style of rock think that having fun means you have to degrade people? Explain this to me, please. Also, there are songs that are misogynist and songs that aren't misogynist, so look at songs, not the bands.
I was talking about Anal C**t in that post, and somebody said that Hinder weren't misogynist, and if you wanted misogyny, to check out Type O Negative. I had looked Anal C**t up on Pandora, and "Ha Ha You Got Raped" is a title of a song Anal C**t recorded.
I'm not here to argue wether this band is good or not, I have my tastes you have yours, What I am here to ask is of 'Karen Elizabeth Stickney'. I was intrested in what you had said about the guys from hinder laughing at a a rape victim, because I really do like this band and that would certainly change my view on them wether they make good music or not. So, I looked it up and could'nt find anything like this, not that I'm attacking your statement, but where did you get your information?
I never heard Lips of an Angel that much on the radio. However, everyone who knew it would sing it, so yes it got pretty annoying. But, that's the only song I heard people singing by Hinder. Valid argument, though.
Too bad the F5 outside of OKC didn't suck this band up. The F5 didnt even suck as much as they do.
Now before everyone gets all offended, think about how many times a day you were forced to hear "Lips of an Angel" on VH1 or MTV, and radio, per day at it's height. I'm betting somewhere between 5-10 times a day. Overexposure killed Live, and this band started down the same path. |
And also Anal C**t. They even laughed at someone who got raped. Now that's misognysm at its worst.
i love this band it is the best i love all the songs especially from the new album
hinder is possibly the best band ever to see live, i've seen them 4 times already =>
great band! by far the best group today to see live! very energetic, great sound, and one hell of a time! highly recommended! !
This is my all time favorite band. After I heard Lips of an Angel for the first time I fell in love with his sexy voice, awesome guitar, and amazing beat! Love Hinder so much!
few bands have a sound that can be put in different categories in style. If this group does'nt catch you one way or another, play it again.
