Hinder
Biography
Post-grunge rockers Hinder got started in the early 2000s in Oklahoma City, where Joe Garvey and drummer Cody Hanson found Austin Winkler singing cover songs at a college party. The three formed the nucleus of Hinder, and started landing gigs opening locally for acts like Theory of a Deadman. Lineup changes brought on guitarist Mark King and bassist Mike Rodden, and after an initial, self-released EP the quintet signed with Universal for their 2005 full-length debut, Extreme Behavior. ~ Johnny Loftus, All Music Guide

Get stoned was ok, but everything else is so annoying, I've heard better music on hold talking to Dell.

Hinder's singer is absolutely terrible. I've risked breaking my neck on a slippery concrete floor to change the station - I absolutely refuse to listen to anything by them, they turn my stomach foul.
I love Hinder. Can't wait 'till the new album comes out on my birthday! (Nov. 4th)

Hi I'm a Older guy, 50 and have to say Hinder is great. I'm coming off a divorce after 21 years and the death of both parents in the last three months. This gruop has shacken me out of the shock and hurt of my life and made me fell alive again. I feel and understand their song and they ring true to me. I'm waitting for their next record/CD.

B, take a listen to some of Nickleback's early work in the late 90's, very early 00's...they actually used to rock, but then they got all Hallmark-lik e and started to suck.
Diana, I agree with you to a degree about the level of misogyny in Hinder's lyrics, but I challenge you to find a male fronted rock band that doesn't. Nature of the beast. I'm not too sure what I think about this band yet, but I'm leaning toward Bubblegum rock. Nice voice, but fluffy in substance. |
Better than me is a sad song but it definitely is one of their best songs. Can't wait till their next album comes out.
I ♥ THEM!!! they're soooooooo cool!!!! one of my favorite songs is 'Better than Me'......... . . * t e a r * LOL :D
Did anyone know the song Lips of an Angel is about a person cheating on his girlfriend!
I don't want to listen to this type of music at work, please delete this type of artist selection from my play list.
I love listening to Hinder! This band just sounds great, I can't wait for more albums... they sound like a more hardcore Nickelback with better lyrics

. . . I did move on. It's why I don't listen to their music. And I'm not the only one who has expressed distaste at their attitude towards women, one which you clearly share, judging by your reactionary behaviour. However, I had to see exactly how predictable the petulant little boys were going to be that someone might dare to suggest that women aren't at fault for every evil in the world, and pathetically and predictably enough, you did not disappoint. |
In response to (assumed) Ms. Ramadani... If you're uncomfortabl e with their misogynist attitude or subject matter... move on. Stop whining. It's actually hilarious that people like you (in my opinion typically women) can find time to complain about a band's opinion, but not to find another band with more appropriate lyrics suitable for your own values. Whatever the case... you fail.

Not every band is post-grunge they just have hints of grunge so its considered post-grunge
You know, I like the melody, I like the harmony, I like the singer's voice, and I absolutely detest the rampant misogyny in their lyrics.
I've never heard a band that I was so uncomfortabl e liking that I actually didn't like them because of the words. Damned shame; maybe they'll grow up and quit being such jerks. |
The music's great... but the meaning of their songs aren't very positive.
Hard to be faithful? So he fails because of a woman? Weak! |
Thank you, dragonforce9 , I whole-hearte d l y agree! Their "artistic" ability doesn't overshadow the fact that they sound very amaturish and do sound a bit whiney. Hopefully their next CD will be better.
This music touches places that I have been through. Its nice to know that someone understands.
Hinder is profound in sound and artistic value of the wording. but I see not everyone can appreciate melody. so its there loss.
did the above review just say.....grun g e ? . . . . n o . . . . a t least i don;t think so.
in my opinion, and i don't mean to be rude here, but i think they're a bunch of whiners. just my opinion. ;) |
To me Hinder is like listening to todays Bon jovi, I basically get the same mix of feelings when listening to their emotionally charged lyrics
