Hurt
Biography
Hard rockers J. Loren and Evan Johns met after Johns' producer father, Andy, heard Loren on a demo tape and was intrigued by the singer's voice. Upon hearing that Loren was looking for a drummer, Andy Johns arranged for the two young musicians to get in touch, and they quickly found that they played well together. Soon guitarist Paul Spatola and bassist Joshua Ansley joined (though Loren also plays guitar and violin for the band and Johns adds piano) and Hurt was completed. In 2006, their debut, Vol. I, came out on Capitol Records, while the following year the appropriately titled Vol. II was released. ~ Marisa Brown, All Music Guide

Saw this band at the House of Blues here in Houston. Great bunch of guys. Their music is very versatile not just a three cord band. What else can I say these guys rock!

I also just saw hurt in cedar rapids at a small venue & i think they play the best when it's just the band and a few hundered fan. I've also seen them with big bands and they still hang with their fans after the show. Tell me of any other band that does that.

Moonshadovvr a v e n , I have a similar story. I saw HURT in a concert supporting Seether and Flyleaf. I had never heard of them before but I thought their show was awesome. I went out the next week or so and bought both Vol. 1 & 2!

I heard two songs in a friend's car, bought the disk that day and tickets to the show two days later. I have been to every show in Minneapolis since then. Live, they are one of the best preformances I have seen. Every time he picks up the violin(fiddle? ) I get goosebumps.

Just by the way... Ansley is no longer with the band. He was replaced by Rek Mohr. Full discography includes Volumes I & II, The Re-Consumati o n , Hurt (Self Titled), The Consumation, The Black Market EP, and the Connect Set. :)

Hurt rocks! They are amazing in concert. I just wonder why they don't have The Re-Consumati o n on their discography, it's a great album.
