Biography
Creating a style of music that allows them to worship God through gore music (self-described as "gorship"), Impending Doom are a Christian death metal band who use extreme music as a means to explore their beliefs. Formed in Riverside, CA, in 2005 by founders Manny Contreras (guitar), Brook Reeves (vocals), Chris Forno (guitar), Isaac Bueno (drums), and Greg Pewthers (guitar), the band formed and quickly self-released the EP The Sin and Doom of Godless Men. In the time after the EP, Forno, Pewthers, and Bueno left the band and were replaced by Cory Johnson, Chad Blackwell, and David Sittig. With a new lineup, the band signed to Facedown Records in 2007 and released its full-length debut, Nailed. Dead. Risen, featuring re-recorded versions of some of the songs from the debut EP. @andreworndo r f f : No, it's not burping and f*rting, it's pig-squealin g and breakdowns (which are just as difficult to produce, if you follow my meaning). It may not be 5 straight minutes of consecutive breakdowns, but 3 of those 5 minutes ARE.
I guess I'm just annoyed that so many of these Christian bands choose this deathcore crap as their chosen style, rather than taking the time to actually play something difficult. |

I totally agree that Christian Metal is an unbelievably awesome genre... so many great bands... and it is so much more than just breakdowns.. . people who say that are not nearly as "expert" in music as they try to appear to be! In metal today... the talent and creativity is all in the Christian scene... hands down! Proof that God has decided to use heavy music to reach kids who need him most!

Dude, it's not burping or f*rting, nor does it sound like it. My ears are a whole lot more different than yours if I hear words being shouted from their mouths in the same way I hear words being shouted from the mouth of Extol(never heard of Crimson Moonlight or Antestor). If the words worship God, do you think God would care if His good name was incorperated into the most unlikely genre of music?

Yes, music is music, but if you really want to glorify God with it, the least you can do is actually learn how to play something other than a breakdown, and at least learn how to scream/growl legitimately . Look up Extol, Antestor, and Crimson Moonlight. All excellent bands that worship God through harsh vocals.

I really hate it when good christians come along and denounce christian metal, saying that "it can't be used for the glory of God, His name needs to be 'sung' not screamed". Most would think, and yes I have heard this before, that all forms of metal are for people who cut their wrists, hate their lives, and are sadistic. But God says He wants any kind of worship, sung or screamed. As long as His creation is crying out to Him, I'll bet He has no problem with it.

Music is music Plague. God created it all, as a christian you should know that, from metal to gospel, which I don't really enjoy myself.But there are different ways of worshipping God thruogh music and it's not just through artists like Toby Mac or David Crowder as many would think. If the artist is worshiping God in the music, don't you think God could care less what genre of music? God didn't create music for you but for you to worship Him with it.

Plague, it sounds like regular death metal to me, and people think Christian rock/metal is a joke is because all they hear from Christians are Toby Mac, DC Talk, and all that other gospel crap.
When they hear "Christian music" they think of going to church on a Sunday morning and "raising your hands to the Lord" with pianos and one-sided priests. Personally, I hate metal, Project 86 and Demon Hunter is going far enough for all the screamo and stuff. I love Demon Hunter, no topping them. |

I want everyone to be safe but because of how the world is, that will never happen so I rather go to Hell than feel like a selfish b**tard who says, "so long suckers. 5. I'm not an agnostic and I'm telling you, there will always be people who won't have faith in God because of free will and won't go to Heaven. I'm not going to accept freedom from problems until the problems of people going to Hell disappears from Earth and people will be happy on Earth so they won't do anything bad and not have to go to Hell because there wouldn't be a reason. I want everyone's suffering to end and never have to deal with it. I'm not going to Heaven just so I am safe.

Again, MAN CANNOT FIND THE ANSWERS TO THOSE QUESTIONS. Only God knows what He's thinking. I can only imagine why God knew Satan would tempt Adam. Maybe it was to display His power to His creation, I just don't know. But we christians, which I care if they get to heaven as much as anybody else, will follow and trust in God nonetheless. I, on the other hand, am about universal ticket to Heaven. Saying, "I want everyone to be happy and never having to worry about Hell so they would all go to Heaven. If not everyone goes to Heaven, then I will go to Hell because I rather feel pain then abandon my brothers and sisters who became lost because of being possessed by evil that was let to roam free on Earth and who were good people, but they just happened to not follow God."

Someone who truly f**king loves you would never f**king call you a servant or have you worship him and bow down to him. Someone who loves you would treat you as it's equal. I can find everything I want and need on this Earth. I don't need no damn reward. I make people happy because it feels right not because it pleases my "master". There are people who don't want to go to Heaven and they are good people with minor screw ups. They may not go to Heaven but they sure as hell don't deserve to go to the same place as Hitler or Stalin or who ever the f**k ever is there who were possessed by darkness that God just let happen. But your ticket to Heaven will be revoked if you do not seek the Kingdom of God and know Christ while your down here. That's your task. Don't question Him, just have faith in Him. Know that He is an all-knowing, sovreign, omnipresent God. But it's your descision, not mine. I'm just here giving directions. But even if you decide not to listen, I know I haven't failed because when I get to heaven I'll hear God say "Well done, my good and faithful servant."

Which reminds me, did you read those verses? I'm not trying to be teacher here, I'm simply trying to get you engaged in the Bible so you can understand it. Have you read the Bible? If not, then no wonder why you question it. Read and study it and you will find answers to most of your questions. Some answers His word holds, others only God knows. Why God created man so they could just disobey Him, that is something you'll have to take up with God when you get to Heaven.

And you're right, only God can give the correct answer. And He will be able to tell you what He thinks about when you get to heaven. But if you're a faithful believer, the job on Earth is to share His name and to trust in Him and know He has control. And the reward: eternal life. The Bible says when you become a follower of Christ and study His word, you will gain a whole new understandin g of things(and a ticket to Heaven).

My point is angel, you're expecting God to give all the answers to all your questions. That's not how God works. He dosn't just give the solution to your problems at your own convenience. If you want to see him have the correct answer, fine, read the bible(which was written by men who were spoken to by God. I mean, Isaiah, for example, was a prophet. He wasn't crazy enough to write his own book of prophecies just so he could mess around with people).

I'm talking about God not Jesus or his Jesus form. Also, I don't want to see him to believe he exists but I want to see him to have the correct answer. Plus, the Bible was written by free willed men so how am I supposed to know if it's the truth? God himself can tell me why he does things and what he is thinking. Nobody knows you as well as you know yourself. Same thing with God. Only he can give me the most correct answer. So unfortunatel y , I won't find the truth.

If no one else can give you the answers you need, then find the answers for yourself in the Bible. It's your job to do it if you want answers.

Thomas doubted Jesus' ressurection , but the only thing is, Jesus appeared to Thomas. So this is where your "homework" comes in, it's easy. If you have a bible, look up and read John chapter 20 verses 24 through 29. If you don't have a Bible, which is probable, check one out in your local library. I also would like you to read Romans chapter 9 verses 14 through 24. These verses will answer your question on why God does the things He does.

When you said you want to get all your answers from God Himself, Thomas, or formally known as Doubting Thomas, wished the same thing. He thought he had to see Jesus alive again before he had to believe it.

To me, free will is a curse because of the bad s**t people can use it for. If he cares, let's say about me,then let him show himself to me and answer my questions. I want to hear it from him. Not a book nor your words. I believe people have endured this going to Heaven or Hell business long enough. I had enough of knowing that future generations won't be safe from it. You don't send people to Hell that you love dumb a**. And don't give them powers that can lead them to Hell either. God sacrifices s**t. People were made by God,yet the free will to exist as a human with free will or not wasn't available. It doesn't cost him anything since he can make as many people as he wants. So I guess a commitment to keep peace on Earth wasn't one of his. I don't trust anything with power. It doesn't have to cost him anything if he would just see what free will has done.

Why would God create someone with free will? It's quite simple actually: it's because God loves them, and wants them to love Him back freely. It's the sacrifice He made for us: He sacrificed his Heart so that He might have ours. And that's why people hate, lust, cheat, steal, kill, rape and desecrate and then go to hell for it: because there's free will in the universe, and God does not change His mind like we do.
