Biography
J. Blackfoot was the lead singer of the Soul Children, the Memphis-based group that scored 15 R&B hits between 1968 and 1978. Colbert launched a solo career as J. Blackfoot with the single "Taxi," which climbed into the R&B Top Ten in 1984. ~ William Ruhlmann, All Music Guide

"THE" Soul Children. Voices as distinct as his make the rest of any group a "solo" with background. As a performer, he never hogged the spotlight. He even switched off on lead vocals but, his voice made the group!

This the type of music that can truly be admired. The Artist can easily be listened to. Outstanding vocals.

This artist once sang a song about the depth of his love and it included saying something about crossing a desert and, and darn i'm drawing a blank! is there anyone who by these near worthless clues have any idea what song i'm talking about??
