Jesse Powell
Biography
Jesse Powell grew up singing with his family and in local talent shows. In 1993, Powell met fledgling producer Carl Roland in Kansas City. Upon their arrival in L.A., the two began working together. Powell got his break when Louis Silas, Jr. heard him sing at an artist showcase; it was shortly thereafter that Silas signed Powell to a recording contract. The singer's recordings include 1996's Jesse Powell, 1998's 'Bout It, and 2001's JP. ~ Craig Lytle, All Music Guide

this and some ballads by devon edmunds (baby face's brother) and johnny gill were true vocalist in r and b but they are nowhere in sight today. oh and not to mention tevin campbell.

"You" has got to be my favorite song ever! It's so beautiful. I am definetly walking down the aisle at my wedding with "You" playing. If I have the money, I am going to see if Jesse himself could sing it as I walk down the aisle. That would be so awesome and a dream come true. I just love that song and I always will. Jesse is a wonderful singer and that song was truly a brilliant match for his vocals!

I let my son use my car and this song was playing and I have been hooked ever since. Such passion and talent, this brotha is the best I've heard in a long while. Keep on wit cho bad self!!!!!!!! M u c h props!

this song is like wow! what else can you say but he made this song. "You" is the bomb will always be. even after time like this that has past. when i hear that song it's like man, i should cuddeling somewhere.. this is my nigga forever and always.
