Job For A Cowboy
Biography
Unleashing a relentless fusion of hardcore and death metal with the precision guitar attack of progressive metal, Job for a Cowboy was formed in Glendale, AZ, in 2002. The group was founded by vocalist Jonny Davy, guitarists Ravi Bhadriraju and Andrew Arcurio, bassist Chad Staples, and drummer Andy Rysdam, and the band cut their first demo CD in 2004. Later that year, Staples and Rysdam left Job for a Cowboy, with Brent Riggs and Elliott Sellers respectively stepping in as bassist and drummer. In 2005, the band recorded a six-song EP, Doom, that attracted the attention of Arizona independent label King of the Monsters, who distributed the disc after an initial self-released pressing by the band. Doom earned a potent buzz in metal circles, enhanced by extensive touring, and Metal Blade Records signed the band in 2006, reissuing Doom with a bonus track. Also in 2006, Arcurio dropped out of Job for a Cowboy, and new guitarist Bobby Thompson joined the group. While Job for a Cowboy was writing material for their first full-length album, Sellers left the band, and Jon "The Charm" Rice became their new percussionist. Recorded between road trips with producer Andy Sneap at the controls, the group's first album, Genesis, was released in May 2007 by Metal Blade, with lots more touring to follow. ~ Mark Deming, All Music Guide
@ oakhillsrctr a c k - suck it f**got.
Pig squeals for this band is the equivalent of the glam metal years for PanterA. = gay. I like JOB now, now there a real band worthy of some speration from the pack of pig sqealing bands. |
Exactly.... Doom was a stupid album. i dont see how sooooooo many people are still holding on to that old s**t JFAC has moved on to bigger and better things and are actually respected now that theyve released these new albums. They have a new drummer and a new guitarist now and the sound has changed completely sence doom, for the better. they were just kids back then and didnt really know what they were doing. JFAC has matured and their music shows it i think all of these lil emo breakdown lovin
Ummm...nope, I'll still be laughing about pig squeals and breakdowns.
XD |
if you dont like it skip it, but youll be back when you grow up and relize that you were wrong this whole time and that JFAC is the f**king s**t. so go f**k off and listen to your gay bands
Yeah, pig squeals pretty much take about two hours to condition your throat to get used to having air go the wrong way through your vocal chords, then two minutes to perfect once you get used to the feeling. Not to mention that you still sound like a pig getting butt-raped.
DUDE BULLSHIT PIG SQUEALS ARE SOOOOOOOOOOO O O O O O EASY xP I CAN DO THEM PERFECT TO DOOM AND I PRACTICED FOR LIKE 2 MINS xD
Freaking love their pig squeals. Trying to replicate them is so tough...
HAY BARON VON SUCK YOUR AN IDIOT WHY DONT YOU DO US ALL A FAVOR AND PLACE A 9 MIL AGAINST YOUR TEMPLE AND PULL THE TRIGGER U A**HOLE!!!!! ! ! ! 1 1
well whoever this megan doosh is obviously doesn't know s**t about metal because doom hails in comparison to genesis. Granted that entities was the s**t the rest of doom was just breakdowns and pig squealing and its kinda gay now that Genesis and Ruination came out because breakdowns and pig squealing isn't music its just noise. Complex, fast, and brutal guitar riffs and drum beats that are featured in the new albums is music and its damn good music. Anyone who disagrees can eat my c**k
@Megan: I made a station with Black Dahlia Murder and At the Gates and this came up. I wasn't looking for pig squeals and breakdowns, they just happened to show up to the party. And what's a person named Megan doing with nuts anyways? That's just unnatural...
hold up who ever said genesis was more brutal than doom is f**kin ignorant
YO WHO EVER THE F**K OL BOY DOWN THERE IS WHATS YOUR NAME F**KED BY UNICORNS WHY YOU GOT A RADIO STATION WITH JFAC ON IT ANYWAY BECAUSE EVERY ONE ELSE SUCKS AT IT BESIDES JFAC AND YOU SUCK MY NUTS B**TARD GUY
Ugghh...Pig squeals and breakdowns.. . T o t a l l y talentless aspects.
Anyone ever tried to pig squeal? It takes about three hours to master. |
Job For A Cowboy is much better off without the pig squeeling. It was cool at first but than every band started doing it and it got annoying. Besides they only did it in doom to stand out from other bands and get their name out, it workd. But than u got lil f*gs that miss pig squeeling and thats f**kin annoying. Genesis and Ruination are like 10 times more brutal than doom
Its all good "mikeviney93 " just keep listening to your THIRD EYE BLIND and yull be okay.
new ablum is good.
Personally I dont like that pig squeeling crap, i like thier newer sound better. |
Dude you wouldnt no good music if it jumped up and Killed you. Burn in Hell! and Die on the cross b**ch!!
For once moomoo... I agree with you... When they dropped pig squealing they stopped being Job For A Cowboy... They sorta sold out in a way... They're kinda like The Black Dahlia Murder without the kick-a** solos now.
It just sucks that they dont have Ruination on here, its really tech and original.
Okay, but they are american metal. And american metal is well... american metal. It will never be as good as the Satanic mastery of the Scandinavian metal bands. JFAC is also doomed to being okay by the fact that they have not embraced black metal.
theyre growing on me......
Its a painful cyst that is leaking vile black/green putrid deathlike puss........ b u t they are growing on me. |
Bio needs to be updated. They've the Ruination picture but no updated Bio or Discography.
I think eventually I will like em, I just dont hear enough groove right now in thier music. They are just all over the place with tempo, vocals, shreds...etc . . T h e y r e talented and heavy and they do rock, its just the groove aspect for me.
Yall dont have to agree, Im just commenting on what I hear in this band...and Ive given them a good try already. Thats not "needing meaning" is it? No...its just rythm, flow....cohe s i o n in the music. I dont know what 90% of the bands I love may actually "mean" |

When I first heard about this band I thought it wasn't gonna be country.. Then I gave it a listen... It flayed the skin from my face..
I love this band \m/ >_< \m/ |
