Jon B
Biography
Songwriter, producer, vocalist, and instrumentalist Jon B. brings a distinctive focus on smooth melodies to contemporary R&B. Proficient on keyboards, guitar, bass, and drums, he wrote and produced songs for such rap music legends as Toni Braxton, After 7, and Color Me Badd. Born in Rhode Island and raised in California, Jon B. was the son of a professor of music and a concert pianist. Influenced by music found in his grandparents' record store, he began combining '70s soul with '90s hip-hop on his 1995 debut album, Bonafide. It sold more than one million copies and went gold. His second album, 1997's Cool Relax, continued the emphasis on classic hip-hop soul. He continued entertaining audiences, with several concert tours throughout the world. Aside from personal performances, he writes for popular artists including Toni Braxton and the rap group Az Yet. In the new millennium, Jon B. returned to form for a third record. Pleasures U Like was issued in spring 2001. ~ Kim Summers, All Music Guide

He's such a great artist and it's a shame more of his music is not played on the radio. That's ok. All of us fans can continue to play our cds and enjoy his creative talent. :)

I wish Jon B. got more exposure. He's a great artist but has never gotten the full exposure and props he's due.

Jon B is cool. His music is smooth. He's talented. Great songwriter. H8trs need to REALLY check themselves. Their obviously just jealous and have issues with who they are and what they do. I gotta pray for them though, it's not really their fault they can't think intelligentl y - most likely it's their parent's fault. Anyway, much love to Jon and thanks for all the good music.
Peace! |

I miss Jon B. I wish he would come back on the set. Although his best work is on Cool Relax. I did not particularil y like his Helpless Romantic album. I was not aware that he had another album released in 2008. He is still a great artist who is very talented.

What ever happened to my man Jon B anyway?... He needs to hit us up with another release. Definetely an underrated artist. My boy has a cool vibe and some smooth talent.
I think he is so under rated as an artist. He has been making great music for along time now. He is the truth (black or white).
I've enjoyed listening to Jon B since his first album Cool Relax and I'm still like me some of his music. Wish he would come out with some more cuz I would surely buy it.

Before you speak ignorantly, know what your talking about. He was in a relationship (with a woman), who happened to be an actress on a black sitcom. She died, after batteling a life long disease (not bilemia). "They don't know", was written for her before she died. And the fact that the man can sing.....wel l , I think that speaks for itself...
What a convoluted review that Kim Summers did on Jon B. She referred to Toni Braxton, Color Me Badd and After 7 rap legends? It goes to show that as long as you are a writer, you can just write and have no clue what you are talking about!
What's wrong with f*gs? Who cares about his sexual preference. do you like his music?
ANyone who says he is gay...has NO CLUE!!! If you listent o the lyrics he is obviously talking to a girl since he says GIRL in his songs more than once!!! People need to stop hating!!! He can sing better A LOT of other artists out there...you gotta a problem with that?!?! Then come hit me up so i can bash your @$$!!!
Werd He need New Promotion . .. he never gets his just DO since Love Jones the movie . i have been loving him
i'm sooooo glad another album came out for him....I love me some Jon B and he needs new promotion, a new label...some t h i n g , clearly one of the most underrated artists of my time. Stronger Everyday was one of my favorite albums in 2004.
