Terry and Toni went on to record an album or two of the own which are wonderful.

Back before surround sound the did a TV&FM live simulcast concert in San Francisco. I was fortunate to see and hear it. I've also caught one of their shows in Cambridge, Mass. They were terrific and terrificly under rated.

This group received some airplay in the 70's in my part of the world. I liked it then, and I still do. Interesting to note they got a mention by Jerry Garcia and Commander Cody in their NRPS cut "Lonesome LA Cowboy". Not surprised. Good Stuff!

Joy of Cooking was an American folk-rock band, formed in 1967 in Berkeley, California. It was unusual in that it was led by two women - pianist Toni Brown and guitarist Terry Garthwaite. The rest of the band consisted of bass guitarist David Garthwaite (Terry's Brother), drummer Fritz Kasten and percussion player Ron Wilson. Keyboard player Stevie Roseman replaced Toni Brown for a time and bass players Happy Smith and eventually Jeff Neighbor replaced David Garthwaite on bass gu |
