Justice
Biography
Justice, a Parisian dance production duo comprised of Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay, generated an international buzz with "D.A.N.C.E.," a catchy single whose video and MP3 spread like wildfire across the Internet in summer 2007. Before "D.A.N.C.E." became an online sensation, Justice had released a couple singles ("Never Be Alone," "Waters of Nazareth") on Ed Banger Records, a Parisian dance label whose roster also includes DJ Mehdi, Mr. Flash, and Uffie. "Never Be Alone" (aka "We Are Your Friends") is particularly notable; based upon vocal samples from "Never Be Alone" by the British band Simian, the song was licensed in 2004 by International Deejay Gigolo Records, a German techno label helmed by DJ Hell, and consequently became popular in England and Germany, in addition to France. Augé and de Rosnay were prolific remixers as well, with high-profile credits including N.E.R.D.'s "She Wants to Move" (2004), Britney Spears' "Me Against the Music" (2005), Death from Above 1979's "Blood on Our Hands" (2005), Fatboy Slim's "Don't Let the Man" (2005), Daft Punk's "Human After All" (2005), Soulwax's "NY Excuse" (2005), Franz Ferdinand's "The Fallen" (2006), and Mr. Oizo's "Nazis" (2006). The sensational popularity of "D.A.N.C.E." in summer 2007 was driven initially by trend-setting Internet bloggers, who were quick to champion the song, in particular its video, which featured animated T-shirts. Vice Records helped fan the flames, posting numerous MP3 remixes -- for free download on its blog. All of the Internet activity set the stage perfectly for Justice's debut full-length, (aka Cross), which was released first in France by Because Music, then in the U.S. by Vice Records shortly thereafter. ~ Jason Birchmeier, All Music Guide

yo people i am about to shoot you all out of the water
alright justice is christian ill give you some examples why 1.) they have the cross as there sign 2.) in many interviews that i have watched they say they are christian 3.) alot of the titles of there songs are christian refrences 4.) they pray before going on stage 5.) they say on there myspace there genres are christian club |

They aren't techno; they're house. Also, with track titles like "Genesis," "Let There Be Light," and "Waters of Nazareth," don't you think the religious theme extends beyond "looking metal?"
I really can believe you guys are talking about religion for a techno band. Just because they have a cross on the cover doesn't mean they are "religious". They put it on the cover so it would have a "metal" type look to it.
Anyway...... . They are a great group and i hope to be seeing them live soon. |

come on guys, listen to the music and let this shiz go! Life's too short to complain about crazy comments from attention seekers!

Thanks for pointing this out to me, I didn't know that. But he definitely wasn't a follower of Christ.
ah.. actually, he was agnostic. many of the nazi party were aethist or pagan, but he himself came from fairly strong catholic roots that he never completely shook off.

Hey Punk Guy, ever heard of Adolf Hitler? he wasn't just killing Jews, he killed homosexuals too. And guess what? he was atheist.
Just listened to Let There Be Light... sweet! just found out about this band XD PANDORA hard at work ladies and gentlemen!
why do people judge music like they do life???? just listen to it.... if you dont like it, don't say anything about it and skip the song, i dont care if they talk about people, or make fun or race or sex/gender. Music is Music, if you cant deal with that.... then you are a sad disapointmen t and you make the country you live in look bad because its people like you who will always try to find a flaw in every little problem that no one cares about.
Punk Guy, who is really pushing their views here A christian band or someone just putting down religion because he doesn't understand it or disagrees with it.People might respect your opinion if it was put down more intelligentl y , and didn't sound like the Unibomber just ranting half truths!
people kill people punk guy. for all the s**t you talk about religion you know virtually nothing about it.
To peetevd: Did you not see my comment a few things back when I said "This band is cool." And I can hate on Christians as long as the majority of them think it's okay to deprive homosexuals their basic civil rights to marry and that science should be considered a sin unless it's to make bombs to kill people in third world nations. And religion has been forcing itself into music since the beginning.
Why do you gotta hate on Christians?
It's a music/radio site, not a religion forum. Just listen to the musci and if u dont like it then dont. |

God is an illusion that people made up to make all the wonders of world trivial. So much blood has been shed by people claiming to be servants of God. The true wonder is that this universe was created out of it's own volition and not because of some omnipotent sky god. Religion is the biggest killer in internationa l history, open your eyes people. Your god, who claims to love you, has caused so much pain, and yet you still follow blindly like sheep to a slaughter.
This band is cool, but I can't like them all the way, cuz they're religious. I'm paranoid that they'll be used as a conversion tool or they'll try and convert people over to their fairy-tale religion about a man who loves you a whole huggy bunch until you piss him off for doing something that is not cool according to arbitrary rules set down thousands of years ago by a non-existent sky god who f**ked anyone up who disagreed with him, otherwise known as Christianity .

Didn't Kanye West storm the stage when they won the European video award for Justice vs Simian's "We are your friends" remix of "Never be alone"?
"I'm sure your video is very good, I haven't seen it. But come on I had Pamela Anderson, it cost over a million dollars. If I don't win, the show loses credibility! " |
Interestingl y enough, justice, in french is pronounced," j o o - s t y c e . " So I always get mixed up when reading it. And it means righteousnes s . So I guess "cross" is appropriate?
Great tunes tho lol. |
justice is uhh-f**king- m a z i n g
there performance on jimmy kimmel priceless |
I have been looking for another Daft Punk sounding group. These guys definitely have similarities .
I think the point of having the cross as their logo is to prove that a cross is not only religious, its just a symbol. and guess what that symbol represents? JUSTICE.
They are effing geniuses |
i really like a cross the universe also. Phantom pt.I & II are sick
Uhm, if you have a tree on your shirt then you have serious problems, vegetarianis m being the least of those problems.
Just because they slap a cross on the album doesn't make it religious. That's like saying having a tree on your shirt makes you a vegetarian. They make religious references on their album covers, and that's it. Not a bit of their music goes back to religion.
they also have done insanely good work for MGMT. I don't think they're all that religious. I just think they're using biblical references. Gotta remember, they're a bit french.
