Keith Green
Biography
Green founded Last Days Ministries with his wife Melody in the late '70s. A reformer trying to purge the church of unbiblical habits, Keith's music was lyrically a mix of Jesus Movement protest and 19th-century evangelistic writings. He died in a plane crash in July 1982. ~ Bil Carpenter, All Music Guide

God is good...faith f u l from when I came to faith when Keith was alive until now! Let us return to the powerful faith of our youth! God is the same. Let us repent and return! "He who conceal his sins will not prosper but he who confesses and renounces them finds mercy" proverbs; Only sin keeps us from experiencing the power and grace of our God. He never changes let us draw near to the throne of grace and keep coming. No sin is too great for God to handle except the sin of not accepting the perfe

I agree that it sounds like he's just singing to God...
Some artists end up as mainstream because their music was never really for God... or it became something else. But never Keith Green! You feel like you're just worshipping with him when you listen to his music. What a powerful testimony! |

I've been listening to Keith Green since about 1977. I saw him @ Disneyland and it was phenomenal. A gifted prophet and he still ministers to me.

Here's a little more Art:
Keith had a Jewish background, but he grew up reading the New Testament. He called it "an odd combination" that left him open minded but deeply unsatisfied. His journey led him to drugs, South Asian mysticism, and "free love." After experiencing what Green described as a "bad trip," he abandoned drug use and became bitter towards philosophy and theology in general. Green would later state, however, that in the midst of his skepticism, he felt that God "broke through |
||
his calloused heart," and he became a born-again Christian. Soon afterward, Keith's then live-in girlfriend, Melody Steiner, also gave her life to Christ, and the pair married on Christmas day, 1973. It was during this time that the newlyweds became involved with the Vineyard Christian Fellowship in Southern California.

Uhhhh, can I speak for those who admire Mr. Green by saying...
what a crappy, near-useless little biography by Bil Carpenter (above)!!!! Do we have any takers who will write an accurate, informative review and submit it to Pandora? Or, at the very least, how about copying and pasting the info from the Wikipedia page? It's perspective is secular as well, but at least they expand and cover much area. Thanks. |
||
I love Keith Green! His songs speak to me in a most personal way.

||
When I first came to the Lord, Keith's music reached into my heart past all my rationalizat i o n s and excuses and reminded me whom I serve. Today the music always brings me joy and challenge.

It doesn't get much better than this. Very inspiring. The Prodigal Son Suite is tear jerking.

Finally!!
I didn't realize Keith's music was on Pandora. His 'Last Days Newsletter' contains some of the best articles to be found anywhere. Pandora only lists some of his later material, but his several earlier albums are treasures and contain beautiful indepth songs not to be missed. |
