Biography
The winner of Fox TV's first American Idol: The Search for a Superstar competition during the summer of 2002, Kelly Clarkson went from an anonymous talent to a nationally known singer, performing for an audience of millions of viewers. One of the show's most naturally gifted singers, the 20-year-old Burleson, TX, native's vocal talents were discovered when she was in seventh grade, when her school's choir teacher heard her singing and urged Clarkson to join the choir. After high school, Clarkson cultivated her voice and went to Hollywood to make her name; she appeared as an extra on an episode of Sabrina, the Teenage Witch but no other opportunities materialized.
Upon returning to Burleson, Clarkson worked at a movie theater, promoted Red Bull energy drinks, and ultimately worked as a cocktail waitress at a comedy club before entering the American Idol contest. One of 10,000 aspiring singers, Clarkson distinguished herself not only with her big, surprisingly mature voice, but also with her down-to-earth charm and sense of humor; at one of her auditions, she switched places with judge Randy Jackson, who did an impromptu version of R. Kelly's "I Believe I Can Fly.

Kelly used to be awesome at her first CDS but with each CD she makes she is making her music more like other singers ive heard. Keep your uniqueness, Kelly! But she still rocks!

I love this song because it makes me cry and I love her video when her father run away from her and leave her alone It made me cry and so sad. therefore, it made me think about my past.

Kelly Clarkson was my hero - until her My December CD. She started to swear in a few of the songs. Now I'm really disappointed in her. I thought I could trust her music! I totally agree with jennifer.pet r o : Why DID she change her image to appear as cookie-cutte r as modern female country singers?? I also hope that the bio is correct in that My December is a darker and more personal work for her. I miss the music (and her image) in her first CD's.

Kelly is definitely one of my favorite artists.
She has an amazing voice and awesome vocal range. I love the fact that all 3 of her CDs have been so different from each other. It really shows her diversity as a singer. I've seen her perform live and she was absolutely great. Keep up the awesome work Kelly! |

I saw Kelly perform with Reba McIntire this last week in Tulsa, OK. She was phenominal!! ! To share the stage with Reba for the entire concert speaks volumes in itself. The girl can blow!! I have a whole to love and respect for her as an artist!! If anyone has not truly listened to her music, it is a must do!!
