Lamb Of God
Biography
Originally known by the less-than-subtle moniker Burn the Priest, Richmond, VA-based Lamb of God decided to change their name shortly after the release of a self-titled debut in 1998. Featuring vocalist Randy Blythe, guitarists Mark Morton and Will Adler, bassist John Campbell, and drummer Chris Adler, the newly rechristened Lamb of God was launched in the year 2000 with their acclaimed New American Gospel album. The group then embarked on a lengthy touring spree, spending much of the next two years preaching their "pure American death metal" at major heavy metal festivals and small clubs alike. Work on a follow-up effort with producer and Strapping Young Lad mastermind Devin Townsend took place in between these many road jaunts, so that Lamb of God's sophomore LP, As the Palaces Burn, was released in summer 2003. Ashes of the Wake quickly followed it in 2004. Produced by Machine, it featured the most fully realized material of the band's career. Ashes was both a chart and critical hit and set up a year's worth of successful touring for Lamb of God. Epic also reissued Burn the Priest, their 1998 debut from their original band. The Killadelphia DVD appeared in 2005, documenting a particularly fierce stretch of shows in Philly, and the same program's audio edition dropped toward the end of the same year. 2006 saw the release of Sacrament. ~ Ed Rivadavia, All Music Guide

I def agree with you on that metalmidget. Saw them at ozzfest and they put on a damn good show but if it wasnt for the other bands like Behemoth i wouldnt have went
Their Live Cd is pretty good. I wouldn't waste my money on them though.
Saw these guys a couple of years ago in VaBeachiki w/Slipknot & wow, what energy! Good local stuff, Va Boys. wonder if they know GWAR.
New American Gospel is actually great album you just have to get used to the thrash style, more Superjoint Ritual style...
I wasn't to keen on them when I bought New American Gospel , but they have gotten tons better, they get better on every album. Mark & Will are amazing guitarists, they come up with such killer riffs.
Bloodletting off of Burn the Preist and Now You've Got Something to Die For off of Ashes of the Wake are my favorites. oh Terror and Hubris in the House of Frank Pollard has an awesome opening rift. HAIL TRUE METAL!
If you have the Walk With Me In Hell DVD, on the insert is an entire endorsement list. It's huge.

Carrying the torch of heavy metal for sure. Check out the Burn the Preist album if you have all the ones above. If not, I wouldn't make that dramatic shift. It might f**k you up and leave your pants all messy. Lamb of God for life.
These guys are definitely NOT a christian band!!!! But they are damn nasty!!!! sorry to dissappoint the "followers".
Lamb of god is putting out a dvd "Walk with me in hell" which looks awesome
amazing band and i cant wait for the next album
but im afraid it may be a while, since randy is with his side project halo of locusts |

As an "old school" metalhead, I would have to say that LAMB OF GOD has bridged the gap between the early days of thrash, with the modern progressive style of todays heavy music....thu s making them the "perfect" band! Chris Adler is a super drummer..... . . . . . n o t one of thier discs is bad, no filler songs, no throwaway single type songs....jus t pure Amercian Heavy Metal!
The best career move these guys made for themselves was being featured on the Guitar Hero II video game. That brought them a brand new listening group of all ages. My 11yr old now loves her some LoG. Before GH II, she didnt even know who they were. ROCK ON!
LoG should please both fanboy metal fans and the most "true" metal fans. What's the beef?
