LIBERA
Biography
Libera is a boys vocal group organized by music director Robert Prizeman, drawn from schools in South London. Since the age range of the members is seven to 14, the personnel changes over time. The group has performed background vocals for such international stars as Björk, Elton John, and Luciano Pavarotti, and been heard on the soundtracks to such films as Hannibal and Baz Luhrmann's Romeo + Juliet. Their first album, Libera, was released on Erato in October 1999 (February 2000 in the U.S.) and reached number five in the Billboard classical chart. Luminosa followed on Elektra/Asylum in September 2001 (October 2001 in the U.S.) and reached number ten. The group signed to EMI Classics, which issued their third album, Free, in October 2004. Visions followed in November 2005. Angel Voices, a compilation released in October 2006, reached number six. Angel Voices: Libera in Concert was issued both as an audio album and as a home video in October 2007. Libera's fifth studio album, New Dawn, appeared in March 2008 (September 2008 in the U.S.). ~ William Ruhlmann, All Music Guide

Libera is easily the best new artist/group I've found. Their voices are beautiful, their music ethereal. From traditional music to more modern, almost techno accompanieme n t there's something for almost everyone. Having seen them in person, I can attest to their ability to bring chills to the listener. Salva Me, Far Away, Libera (all versions), and Sacris Solemnis are some of my favorites, but they're all wonderful songs. These boys have incredible talent and are great listening!

LOL...I feel sorry for these boys...the only reason they can sing so high is because they all become eunuchs and have their balls cut off...ROFL j/k j/k...they sound great though, can't argue with that. :D

I was enchanted the moment I first heard them. It was actually through Pandora that I discovered Libera and now I'm hooked. So far my favorite songs are 'Stay with Me', 'Salva Me', 'Vespara', 'Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep', and 'Adoramus'.

I LOVE THESE KIDS! if i had an opportunity to be in a group like this...ughhh . . . i would eat it up!

All these songs make me want to laugh, cry, sing, and dance at the same time. Every song is very well arranged and the boys voices are beautiful. Props to Libera.

You only show two Libera CD's, where is New Dawn, Angel Voices in Concert,Libe r a , E t e r n a l , best of Libera. These are all CD's you do not have. I sent a comment about this several months ago so far no action on your part.

Libera is seriously one of my all-time favorite bands, those boys' voices are just...well, angelic! And I love the synthesizers / i n s t r u m e n t a t i o n , the way they adapt classical pieces is just brilliant. "Sacris Solemnis" was the very first Libera song I heard, and it's still my absolute favorite. Just...heave n l y .

They say that the voice of a young boy is more pure and clear than even the best trained adult female voice. But the downside is a very short career for these boys, because once puberty hits...:(

Like Angels singing! This was my first impression of the young men singing at the concert before the Papal mass at Yankee Stadium last May. I was in awe! It brought me to tears.

These boys are friggin amazing I didn't know boys could get that high but kudos to them

They are absolutely amazing and I love the whole kids choir feeling that this gives. The voices that they use are of the most excellent quality and it is a joy to listen to them.

Support your local boychoir! Large cities usually have at least one (mine has 3, I think). Boychoirs usually operate on the edges of anonymity and poverty, and they produce some of the most amazing musicians. Find your local boychoir & contribute to it. Go to the concerts! The little kids are cute, the middle kids are good, the concert group is singing stuff you can't imagine and the alumni - the true proof of this pudding - will BLOW YOU AWAY! .......this boys' choir has captured my musical imagination like few others ever have........ t h a t sounds a li'l bit kinky, but that's the truth....... . G o d bless them and bring us much more before puberty!!
