not sure what this is other than derivative, sounds like lots of other GenX girlbands

Yeah, I'm also friends with these cats, and it's great to see such positive commentary here. Well deserved, if you ask me. Melodic, tight, timeless melodies and awesome vocalists. For bio / more info check out http://www.l o q u a t m u s i c . c o m

I don't know if it's just on the one song (called rocks) or all over, but the bass player is f**king amazing. Surprised that he/she isn't touted by name all over their bio. Amazing.

Thank you Pandora, for introducing me to GREAT artists like Loquat. I would have never find out about them on conventional radio:)

Reminds me of The Sundays. Also Astronaut Wife. THe singer has a really strong voice. Loverly.
haha I also found them on my tegan and sara playlist freakin amazing

Wow...love their sound! Vocals confused me cuz I thought it was Fiona Apple or the lead from Cat Power...

Caught these guys on tour in DC a few days ago. They sound great live and are very nice to hang out with. Also picked up a copy of their new CD "Secrets of the Sea". Good stuff!
love them. it's so airy and just chill you know? found them on my tegan and sara station.

This band absolutely deserves a well-versed blurb and band photo. They're playing the Treasure Island Fest in Sept and I hear they're working on a new album. Can't wait to hear/see them!
I am the biggest sucker for female vocals! Its like a more earthy hooverphonic !
nice and subdued her voice reminds me of Laona Naess. |

In answer to your question, Kaylin...the lead singer of Loquat, Kylee Swenson, is a girl. However, band member Christopher Lautz sings a rather prominent backup on tracks such as "Swingset Chain" and "Serial Mess".

I really hope they release a second CD and/or get signed for a national tour. They're not just good now; they've really got a lot of potential for future growth.
