Lords Of Acid
Biography
Lords of Acid's exaggeratedly sexual acid house dance music gained a cult following with their 1991 album, Lust. Previously, the band had released three singles that laid the groundwork for the dense, throbbing Lust and its club hits, "Rough Sex" and "I Must Increase My Bust." Between their debut and their second album, 1994's Voodoo-U, the group added industrial elements to their sound and became a more straightforward, band-oriented group. At the time of their second album, Lords of Acid was led by Lady Galore (born Ruth Mcardle; vocals) and featured bassist Lord T. Byron (born Frank Vloeberghs), keyboard player Shai de la Luna, and drummer McGuinnes (born Kurt Liekens). Subsequent efforts include 1997's Our Little Secret and 1999's Expand Your Head. Farstucker followed in early 2001, as well as a series of "stript" (their term) re-releases that cut the vocals from the original albums. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide

I saw their show in 94 at the old 9:30 Club in D.C. It was amazing! Even more amazing was running into them down the street at the 5th Column an hour after the show! My boyfriend and I met them and danced with them. THEY WERE JUST AS WILD IN THE CLUB AS THEY WERE ONSTAGE!http : / / w w w . p a n d o r a . c o m / m u s i c / a r t i s t / l o r d s + o f + a c i d #

The similar artists on here need to be erased. There is no band that is remotely as unique as the Lords. Someone said they are a guilty pleasure, and I must agree. I've been listening to them since 1994 about, and still listen to them religiously. Their shows are absolutely amazing, and the founder- the foundation of the group- the only other constant part short of Kurt on drums is Maurice, a.k.a. Praga Khan. He is a freakin' genius and a great man in general. Praise the Lords, F**k the Rest!!!

I was disappointed that almost everything they did after Voodoo-U was crap but I still hold them high in my favorite bands of the 90's list. Their live performance in 95? (can't remember for sure now) still holds the record for most brutal and violent show I've been to. Death Metal and Punk have got nothing on horny and high Lords fanatics.

Wow. Just wow. These guys are such a guilty pleasure. I hooked so many people on these guys, they are catchy like an STD, and more addictive than heroin. Their DJ, Praga Khan has some great work too. I just wish they'd come back... I need my fix. I'd definitely put it to Debra.
