Ludo
Biography
Indie rock band Ludo was formed in Tulsa, OK, in 2003 by Andrew Volpe, Tim Ferrell, Tim Convy, Marshall Fanciullo, and Matt Palermo; the group subsequently based itself in St. Louis, MO. It was in St. Louis that they recorded their self-titled debut album, released in 2003 on Redbird Records. The EP Broken Bride followed in 2005. In the fall of 2006, Ludo was signed to Island Records, part of the major label Universal Music. Working with producer Matt Wallace (Maroon 5, Train, Faith No More), they recorded their label debut, You're Awful, I Love You, which was released on February 26, 2008, as they toured the Midwest, followed by coast-to-coast dates in March. ~ William Ruhlmann, All Music Guide

Why doesn't Pandora have their first two albums? shouldn't they be on here, since Ludo re-released them?

The first song I heard was Go Getter Greg, they would always show up when Pandora recommends shows. So I spent an hour looking up all their music, then bought the "You're Awful I, I Love You" album. These guys are amazing. They're ironic, funny, smart, and just all around amazing!

I first found Ludo when i went to a Spill Canvas show(possibl y my favorite band) and surprisingly Ludo BLEW THEM AWAY. I was shocked and have seen them 3 more times since. They are always spot on live, and hilarious!

Ludo is an completely underrated band. They have a lot of potential with and are all extremely talented musicians with a refreshingly new sound. They are also high energy and hilarious.

A girlfriend turned me on to them, great band. Original lyrics, great live shows, and an enthusiasm that is all out all the time. Broken Bride really sets out everything they are.

"You're Awful, I Love You" is an awesome album, but i wish they had some of their older stuff. "The Broken Bride" is heartbreakin g l y beautiful at times, and their self titled debut album is just funny. If you <3 Ludo, czech out their other stuff!

Honestly, these guys are my second favorite band, and I will proudly say that You're Awful, I Love you is the best album I've ever bought. These guys are both insane talented AND hilarious.
they have a self titled album before You're Awful, I love You that was just as good. Its not the EP Broken Bride. You can get it on iTunes. Check out the song Hum Along, first song i ever heard by them and made them my favorite band.

Agree with naetoru, they are amazing, there's no going back after seeing them

I've never seen the movie, but that Ludo character is where they got their name. They explain it in some interviews.

hey jprill,
I know for a fact that it's on iTunes for $4.95, but you can get Part 1: Broken Bride for free on purevolume.c o m / l u d o along with a couple other early songs. SUPPORT LUDO! If you get the free music at least buy an album to make up for it. For those of you that are familiar with iTunes, subscribe to the Ludo Video Thing Podcast it's f**king hilarious! And as an added bonus you get the Love Me Dead music video (episode 15). |
Jprill,
I believe Broken Bride is on iTunes. It's probably only like 7 bucks. They also have their other self titled album. They are good people, support them. |
I can't really find their older album, Broken Bride....doe s anyone know where I can find it online to listen to?
Ludo is amazing! Andrew is crazy on stage and always says such random, but hilarious, things like “Here at Ludo we like to eat hopes and s**t dreams.” (TLVT episode 23) I prefer their old stuff over the You’re Awful, I Love You album. Hum Along, Good Will Hunting by Myself, and Girls on Trampolines are my favorite songs. I love Matt!
I love Ludo; I just recently started listening to them, but I can't get enough...lit e r a l l y !
