Lupe Fiasco
Biography
Chicago-based Muslim MC Lupe Fiasco began rapping in junior high school and joined a group called Da Pak several years later. The group signed to Epic, released one single, and split up, all before Fiasco reached the age of 20. Thanks in part to the vocal support of Jay-Z, L.A. Reid signed Fiasco as a solo artist to Arista, but before anything of significance was able to happen (only a promo single and a couple guest appearances were set up), Reid was fired, leaving the MC without a label. Fiasco eventually landed at Atlantic. Preceded by the single "Kick, Push," as well as several mixtapes and an appearance on Kanye West's "Touch the Sky," the album Food & Liquor was set to surface during early 2006, though an unfinished version leaked during the spring, pushing its official release back to September instead. The album earned Fiasco three Grammy nominations. A highly conceptualized follow-up, The Cool, was released in December 2007. ~ Andy Kellman, All Music Guide

I love hip-hop. Not mainstream hip-hop. My boyfriends hip-hop collection is embarrassing . Lupe flows so well. He's quickly moving up into my faves...up there with Nas, Talib, Guru, Gangstarr.. Check out Black Spade if you've never heard of him. Love him
I love both his albums, and I am excited to hear that he's working on the 3rd. There's not to many "hip-hop" artist or albums that I can say I truly sit and listen to the album from the first song to the last...and sing every single word.....he' s magnificent. Definitely a great contribution to the world of music!! Keep up the good work Lupe!
Theres two things I like in life, tacos and hip/hop. Lupe is like taco flavored hip/hop.
Lupe is good, no doubt. But for all of you who are saying "Finally somebody with something to say in their raps"....you need to get out more. MTV rap isn't the only rap out there....lot s and lots and lots of good s**t, true hip hop, you just have to know where to look
lupe has the best flow out of all the rappers out there now thats just my opinion but it is a good one
