The Mannish Boys
Selected Discography
If you click on the album information instead of the artist info., there is presented quite a bit of, well...info. Nothing is mentioned for the live album, but plenty written about the two studio albums.

Bowie was in a 60's blues band with a similar name but this can't be them.
Think they were the Manish Boys (with one "N" instead of two. Both bands great traditional blues. |

Isn't there any more information about these guys??? They really know how to rock it out! Smokin'...

This is the kind of music I grew up with and absolutely love ... very gut bucket!

I love them because they definitely some down to earth blues players, please pay more of their music.

This is Real Blues! It's true what the previous post said,"re-cre a t i n g the sound of
Muddy." |
||
I think the previous post is a bit off base. The Mannish Boys have a lot more in common with the West Coast Jump Blues of the 50's and 60's than with the Delta Sound of Muddy. Their name may be a tip of the cap to McKinley, but their sound and material is a re-creation of an underappreci a t e d West Coast genre.

As you might guess from their name, this band does a good job of recreating the sound of Muddy Waters. The only clue that this wasn't an authentic recording from decades ago was the high quality of the recording. I'm looking forward to hearing more from them.
