Sorry Gail but Bowzer was not the Marcels bass. Fred Johnson was/is, Cornielus Harp nicknamed Bingo was lead singer. I know them.

I am originally from Pittsburgh and Fred Johnson The Marcels bass was a friend of mine - I played guitar at a recording session for him - he had a great lead voice also. I still remember to this day all of the fun those days were. My group The Pharaohs had a local recording, but one of my biggest thrills was one night I was playing at a bar and Jimmy Beaumont lead with The Skyliners came in to hear ME! What a blast.

PBS had a "doo-wop 50" special a few years ago, they were on it. all of the original members, if I remember correctly.

I remember hearing this on the bus when riding to school int the early 1960's.
