Marion Meadows
Biography
Smooth jazz-styled soprano saxophonist Marion Meadows was born in West Virginia and raised primarily in Connecticut; after adopting the classical clarinet at age nine, he moved to the saxophone as a teen, later studying composition and arranging at Boston's Berklee College of Music. A protege of Joe Henderson and Eddie Daniels, Meadows later served a long stint as a member of Norman Connors' Starship Orchestra; after a series of session dates and sideman gigs, he made his solo debut in 1990 with the RCA release For Lovers Only, followed in 1992 by Keep It Right There. Resurfacing two years later with Forbidden Fruit, after 1995's Body Rhythm Meadows jumped to Discovery to issue 1997's Pleasure. He then moved to Heads Up for Another Side of Midnight (1999), Next To You (2000), and In Deep (2002). ~ Jason Ankeny, All Music Guide

I finally have the opportunity to hear this man in person for the first time this coming Saturday at the Sunset Jazz Festival in Charlotte, N.C. I Have been a long time fan of Marion Meadows for quite a while and I know that his performance is going to be everything that I've heard that they are (great) and I'm looking forward to Saturday's performance. Elated that Charlotte's finally bringing top jazz artist to our city on a regular basis thanks to Tammy Greene the (Jazz Diva) and the jazz venu

Without a doubt, Marion is a heavy hitter when it comes to something called SMOOTH JAZZ. I started to listen to Marion back in mid 1995 with "Body Rhythm" and I just wanted to get his music collection right away. Since then, I got hooked and have followed his career. Thank you Marion Meadows for creating beautiful music. Greetings from Las Vegas.

My first Marion Meadows CD was Player's Club... and man I've been back tracking to get all his stuff prior to that cd. His sound is super smooth and his band is tight, love the music, keep up the good work and great sound.

Attended a mini-concert and I say mini due to the venue, certainly NOT their performance, with Marion Meadows and Will Downing at this place called "The Warehouse" and it only cost 10.00 but it was worth so much more. They came out into the audience performing and stopping by our table and several others allowing us to bathe in the smooth sounds up close and personal. I have all of his music and will continue to buy it because it is so relaxing and smooth.

I had an opportunity to meet Marion @ Jazz Alley in Seattle.WA. He is just as beautifully spirited as his music sounds. I love his music. It has a way about softening the human spirit and transforming happy emotions. I have every CD he has made and will buy all next ones to come.
