The Meeting Places
Selected Discography
This song is really chill. Makes me feel like cruising late at night and think about whatever.

I would say this is pandora's biggest eye opener out of left field.

Yes, Lush did it too, but Outdoor Miner was originally done by WIRE. The Meeting Places record company, Words on Music, put out a CD with 19 different versions of the same song by 19 different artists. http://www.w o r d s - o n - m u s i c . c o m / W M 1 0 . h t m l

The song Wide Awake is sampling very heavily from a Boo Radleys song. So much so that I bet there is some relationship between the bands. If you like The Meeting Places you'll love an album called Everything's Allright Forever by The Boo Radleys.

I purchased the album off of Amazon and it was probably the greatest ~$7 i've ever spent on a CD. Every track is just incredible. The wall-of-soun d guitar is just so hypnotic and loud, it's amazing. The first time I heard Take to the Sun I was rocking out so hard, it was as if Jesus had come down from the heavens to give me a bj.

They sound similar to The Lost Patrol, another dreamy spacey surf-rock band. I LOVE this sound, and if it weren't for my chance happening upon a little known band in the 90's (Kitchens Of Distinction) , I would never have this to search after, and I would never have found out about so many other bands that I now love, like The Chameleons and Lycia and many many more.

I bought their CD. I'm glad I did. I kind of agree with rob4disco... t h e vocals are a bit weak except for on two of the songs.
|
||
the lead vocalist is not up to the wonderful guitar work. If this band changes singers they would have a shot at more exposure.

Another band I just can't get enough of!! Wish they would travel to the east coast and play a show...i'd sell my right arm for a chance to stare at my shoes and sway back and forth to this enchanting music all night.....

Thanks for the tip Lisa, might be worth the trip over there to see them.

Music sounds like Slowdive.... c o u l d have been straight off Souvlaki! Good Stuff!

Oooh, they're playing at Silverlake Lounge on Feb. 9. Gonna try and make the show.

These guys are the real deal. I dare you to listen to the entire "Find Yourself Along The Way" album and not be moved. It's a real good trip.
