No Boundaries
1995
I met Michael Angelo Batio at the winter NAMM show in Anaheim, CA. He's a very cool guy. He let me put on the double neck guitar when i got my picture made with him.

i saw him live it was awesome he is one of the best guitarist ever and one of the most inspiering people ihave ever met
thank you Mr. Batio my hat is off to you |
He originally came up with a Chicago band called Holland (Led by Tom Holland), an 80's melodic rock group. They had a great album "Little Monsters" that had some awesome tunes on it. Apparently Batio wanted to be a shredder though, and him leaving basically spelled the end for Holland. In any event, I saw him in concert with Holland in Chicago, and his technique was amazing. He was much better in a group with Holland than as a solo shredder, IMO.

WIKIPEDIA: Search the term SHRED GUITAR says guitar one voted best in the year. Best is a hard subjective call in this business. I think his method is more advanced then most expecially in "rain forest".

I saw Nitro on the two tours they did. Great shows and really nice guys. Michael Angelo said that the quad guitar you're referring to was stolen shortly after the video shoot. |
I am surprised as well, this is very good, although bit on a soft side and
one-colored. Sounds little too electronic to me, what I am missing on most these otherwise very good and technicaly sound musicians is dynamics that Jeff Beck or Steve Stevens offer (Porcupine Tree as a band excell in dynamics of music as well). After while, everything starts sounding kinda monotone, you know? I agree that Yngwie is better with the wild side of him but doesn't he tire you with same album after albumafte |
whoa dude! good stuff. RC, I may agree that Yngwie may be better, but he is also marketed. I'm impress w/this guy, will definitely add to my fave's list. I don't know where Pandora gets their comparative list, but Joe Satch is similar, as is Micheal Schenker.

check out you tube for "freight train" by nitro he uses a quad guitar and i've seen him play in in concert just as he does in the video. you'll be amazed
he used to play in an 80's and called nitro . OFR was the title of their first cd. fantastic guitar and crazy volcals.
Good stuff... not your average boring "shredder". Actually got some melody in there. Thought it was Blues Saraceno before I looked.
Yes, very cool! Surprised Similar Artists list doesn't list Yngwie Malmsteen or Tony MacAlpine. I thought he was Tony before I looked to see who it was.
Michael Angelo was the guitarist of the Glam band "Nitro". He actually had a four neck guitar (shaped like an axe). Look for the video "Freight Train" to see him play all four necks! The lead singer of Nitro was Jim Gillette (Married to Lita Ford) - he has the most range in a non-opera trained singer I have ever heard... think Mariah Carey's range in a Glam / Metal Singer (Jim's hair is probably longer than Mariah's)!

oooh. This one popped up on my Joe Satriani station. Very good. Had not heard of him before--I like it.
mr. batio shreds. you know you're the best when you can play a double guitar, and play it very well. he rocks.
SYMPHONIC GUITARIST? IS THAT THE STYLE PLAYED WITH A DOUBLE NECK GUITAR ONE PLAYING RYTHM AND ONE LEAD? I LIKE IT! I SAW A GUY ON YOU TUBE PLAYING ONE IMPRESSIVE. THIS PANDORA IS GREAT I'M HEARING A LOT OF ARTISTS I DIDN'T KNOW. I'M SPENDING A LOT OF TIME HERE LISTENING AND READING..... . . . R I C H I E
