Biography
The former lead singer of la Barberia Del Sur and Sabicas, Enrique Morente has continued to set the pace for modern flamenco experimentalism as a soloist. His affinity for lyrics written by modern and classic poets. Morente's album Cantando a Federico Garcia Lorca Y Leonard Cohen, recorded with Lagartija Nick, applies the sounds of flamenco to the words of Spanish poet Lorca and Canadian poet Cohen. Enrique Morente was born in Granada, Spain in 1942. He is the Picasso of flamenco singing. He knows it all and as such artist he has taken the path of innovation as he reshapes flamenco song as he pleases. He collaborated in an album with la Barberia del Sur but wasn't his lead singer though.
