If you doubt the AILD connection, go out and buy A Long March: The First Recordings. While they don't sound remarkably similar, if you listen to early AILD, especially the stuff from Beneath the Encasing of Ashes, you'll see why they get grouped together.

I love that Pandora groups these guys with As I Lay Dying. Just because Mortal Treason are supposedly Christian I guess? They sure as hell don't sound a damn thing like AILD. From what little I have heard, they sound more like newer Hypocrisy or something.

Good stuff with obvious influences from Living Sacrifice and ZAO. Better than a lot of todays emo-screamo junk.

It's too bad that these guys don't exist as a band anymore. =( They had so much potential! Those who scream the word of God will be victorious. Awesome.

As much as I detest high pitched screaming in metal, I kinda like this group. They scream at the top of their lungs but then sooth it with a deep death-metal sort of screaming, ya' know?

ummm stu, maybe they group them together because they think that maybe Christians would like to hear Christian music? I know i do. If i can listen to good music glorifying God instead of talking abou murdering people and summoning demons, that's great!
and verbal, plenty of bands talk about spirits and are not labeled Christian. they are called satanists... l o l |

These guys are super duper. I don't frikkin care if they're Christian, Satanist, Muslim, or if they worship coconuts for crying out loud. In the meantime I'll keep them on my Christian station just cuz they keep it pretty hard edged instead of inviting wimps b/c Pandora groups all Christians together for some reason. Frikkin' predjudist prats.

Do you not realize how lame sounding that is? "Golly gee brothers, I sure do enjoy this breed of music, but I wish more of my fellow Christians would unite and compose songs of this nature, so that I might feel better about being a Super hardcore Christain" I personally would like to see more Satanists banging out more Peter Paul and Mary

does sound a lot like some other more established bands, but since those are all bands I can't get enough of anyways, that works out quite well! I personally would like to see more bands like this that are Christian.

Mortal Treason is a great metal band and the fact there christian is great. Those who have made negative comments against Christian metal have a wright to your opinion but its not fact.

Oh my gawd! There are still Zao knockoff bands?! That guy is trying SO HARD to sound like Daniel Weyandt (who was trying SO HARD to sound like Jeff Walker). And, as any youth group escapee will immediately recognize, Mortal Treason isn't ripping off Zao's sound circa "Fear..." or even "The Funeral of God." No way, these guys are digging down deep in the (christian bookstore) record bins, resurrecting the Blood and Fire era vibe. Check the spoken word on "Bride's Last Kiss." Yum, preachy!

I love this band not only because of the sound but Seth was and still is my favorite BMX rider for Mat Hoffman. Peace!!
