Motograter
Biography
The Texas experimental metal act Motograter is comprised of Ghost (vocals), Smur (drums/samples), Crispy (drums/vocals) and Nuke (guitar). The angst-ridden foursome take their name from a self-built springed/percussion instrument that's made of heavy cable, cranks, and gears. Their self-titled debut for Elektra appeared in May 2003. ~ MacKenzie Wilson, All Music Guide

These guys were sorta gimmicky with no true direction in their music so it never surprised me a bit that they crumbled almost immediatly. Behind your theatrics, make-up, and bravado you actually have to write good songs and hit a chord with fans that make your music important to them to have staying power in todays music scene. Did you get anything from Motorgrater' s debut? The only thing I heard on that record was a group of guys with potential but were not ready for a record deal yet.

They've re-formed with some of the original members, plus a few new, the new lead singer sounds close to Ivan, but not exact. They are recording a new album right now, and keep calling themselves "the New Breed" so I'm guessing it might be the album title, but I'm not sure on that. there's a 30sec. clip on their MySpace of a new song.

This song grabs you within 3 seconds of listening to the beginning. His voice sounds a lot like the guy from Breaking Benjamin.

Five Finger Death Punch is the new group... they got screwed by their production company (elektra) i believe... so they couldn't afford to make any more tours thus no money coming in for the band thus no more albums...

I loved their unique style and use of lyrics. Too bad they fell apart. Their vocalist now sings for Ghost Machine and Five Finger Death Punch.

THEY ARE NOT FROM TEXAS THEY ARE FROM SANTA BARBARA. THEY PLAYED IN MY BACK YARD FOR HALLOWEEN ONE YEAR UNTIL THE COPS SHOWED UP. AND I USED TO GO SEE THEM AT THE BARS ON STATE STREET IN SB.
