The husband/wife team from Portland, OR -- guitarist/composer John Smith and vocalist Valerie Day -- attracted some attention on the R&B and disco circuit in the late '80s. "I Can't Wait" reached number two on the R&B charts and number three pop in 1986 for Atlantic. oooh, wow, I'm shocked, i thought this was a group of latina girls, i remember i was around 15 when this song was hot..black people was really feelin this song, it played on r&b stations all the time.. and at clubs and parties..i guess this couple was foolin around gettin down..
