Pain (Metal)
Biography
Pain is an industrial music project that serves as a creative outlet for famed Swedish heavy metal producer Peter Tägtgren. Launched with a self-titled LP in 1997, Pain has understandably remained predominantly a studio enterprise, but a prolific one at that; with four more albums (1999's Rebirth, 2002's Nothing Remains the Same, 2005's Dancing With the Dead, and 2007's Psalms of Extinction) and literally a dozen-plus singles being released over the ensuing decade. On the infrequent occasions when Tägtgren did take Pain out on the concert trail, he enlisted numerous members of the Scandinavian metal elite, including Immortal's Horgh and Saroth, Hypocrisy's Nazgul, Marduk's Magnus Andersson, and others. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia, All Music Guide

I agree with the other comment, thought they had more albums than the two shown.

Pain also released the album "Cynic Paradise" that is not listed in this description!

I wish Pandora had Pain's other work...
I'm surprised Pandora has never told me to try this out! I found Pain's videos on Youtube and I'm liking this!

peter is a amazing and talented artist. i would find his work to be one of his greatest strengths even without knowing know more about his other skills in his life.
I like Pain, they have some good albums. But I wouldn't exactly call them Industrial.. . K M F D M is industrial. Wumpscut is industrial. There's more progressive here than industrial.
This is not prog metal, most of his songs are industrial nu metal.
Prog metal with a keyboard in the background does not make this sh*t industrial.
Come now, he's very talented. He does it all, you know. Check out his videos.
Cynic paradise has some awesome songs on it, they need to put it on here.
My current favorite is "Follow Me". |
"Shut your mouth" is probably the best song I have ever heard. I love how these guys blend electronic and rock.
I think the band Pain is really good. I like some of there songs but sometimes it gets a little rocky for me
really like Peter's version of Eleanor Rigby although i believe they got the dates on the CD's wrong... Nothing Remains The Same came out before Dancing With The Dead...
Must hear more!!! Their music is awesome!!
What a steamroller of sound! Run over me again . . . and again and again!!!!!
Hey is anyone else requesting itunes to make these tracks available there?
Good stuff, very different from his other works, but he's extremely into music as a whole and it's great to see his ability being put to work.
Bring back Abyss Studios! |
I looked on youtube and found a slew of videos by this guy. Mostly just this one guy; he hires people to help out with performing when he tours. 'Same Old Song' is really good. Also 'Just Hate Me.' Couldn't seem to find 'Save Me' as an actual video; just someone's putting their own video to music.

Yes, odd, isn't it? Or maybe not so odd . . . mainstream is the only stuff I heard for years. I gave up on radio some years back. Then online radio came along! Wow, literally thousands of bands I'd never heard or heard of! It's like living on crackers and cheese and then learning of the concept, alone, of a smorgasbord! Let alone getting to eat there!!!
It's some nice music, but i've never so much heard a whisper of the band's name. Crazy
The fact they sound like they're in pain is what makes this song so good. The words are so sad; what a sad social commentary on American culture--Wes t e r n culture, for that matter. If you're different you're basically screwed.
hmmmm how bout not just another poor f**kin lost in this f**ked up world bands they just need to find themselves cause they sound like they r most definetly in pain
Unbelievable ! ! ! ! Hey, I LIKE being musically flung against the far wall!!!!!
Anyone able to give info on this band? Like, first-hand?? ? They're spectacular!
