Panic At The Disco
Biography
The members of Panic! at the Disco had barely graduated high school when their full-length debut, A Fever You Can't Sweat Out, transformed the suburban Las Vegas teenagers into national emo-pop stars. The band had materialized several years earlier, when friends Spencer Smith (drums) and Ryan Ross (guitar) began covering blink-182 tunes together. After tiring of playing another group's material, the duo recruited two additional classmates, guitar/vocalist Brendon Urie and bassist Brent Wilson, and the newly-formed quartet decided to model its name after a line in Name Taken's "Panic." Crafting pop-influenced songs with theatrical touches, quirky techno beats, and perceptive lyrics, Panic! at the Disco posted several demos online that soon caught the attention of Decaydance Records, the Fueled by Ramen imprint headed by Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz. Even though the band had yet to play a live show, they subsequently became the first band signed to the label.
With their record scheduled for a release in September 2005, Panic! at the Disco joined the successful Nintendo Fusion Tour and hit the road alongside Fall Out Boy, Motion City Soundtrack, Boys Night Out, and the Starting Line. The band continued to tour into early 2006, while their single "I Write Sins Not Tragedies" found its way into TRL hearts and the Billboard Top 40. Proving to be a popular lineup, the Nintendo tour (which also featured Hellogoodbye, "Acceptance," and the Academy Is...) consistently sold out venues across the country. Wilson was fired from the group mid-year; undaunted, Panic! pressed on with their friend Jon Walker on board for a full summer tour that culminated with appearances at Lollapalooza, Reading, and the Leeds festival. The guys picked up "Video of the Year" at MTV's annual VMA ceremony, beating out heavy hitters like Madonna and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and a collector's box set version of Fever (featuring random Panic paraphernalia and a DVD) came out just in time for the 2006 holiday season. After additional tour dates, the band announced that they were eliminating the exclamation point from their name, a sign that seemed to foreshadow the mature, less emo-driven rock featured on Pretty. Odd. Released in March 2008, the sophomore album peaked at number two in the U.S. and showcased an evolving band whose tastes had grown to encompass the Beatles' psychedelic pop. The group supported the album with another string of show dates, one of which was captured on the CD/DVD release ...Live in Chicago. ~ Corey Apar, All Music Guide

I think you all should read "Invisible Monsters" by Chuck Palahniuk, because if you didn't know they wrote "Time to Dance" about it. Which I think is amazing. Once you read the book, and listen to the song after, it makes you go "HOMG". Hahahha. :)
This band died in a plane crash you know. You guys are the only fans left. Didn't you hear? You are the only Panic! at the Gaybar fans left alive.
Naa I'm just kidding. There's plenty of you left. But no really, they died in a plane crash. |

@meggymegmeg 9 6 Brendon and Spencer have no plans for replacements as of now, I'm sure it's coming in the future. Jon and Ryro's project is The Young Veins. They're definitely indie, garage rock. pretry good. www.myspace. c o m / t h e y o u n g v e i n s
They're getting new members, right? I don't care as long as Brendon's still in :) I hope their music doesn't change though. I wonder if Ryan and Jon's new band will be any good? It's called the Youngest Veins right?
it says they're still together in the bio
hahahahaa i miss ryan and jon:( |
BEEF STROGANOFF! :D
(anyone who hates and/or likes P(!)ATD go outside and YELL GUADALAJARA, then run inside! :D Triple Dog Dare) |
Well now there's 2 only members, so who knows whats gonna happen now! lol!
omg the're asome but i did't like the new songs i hope u gys do better of the next xd lol
some bands sell out, they just started to suck. and it sounds more like the zombies
yeah the Young Veins' song called "change" is really good. I know it's been said a lot, but the sound is a lot like the Beatles. I love Ryan and Jon, but I hope that the other songs on their new album are a little more like pretty.odd and less like the Beatles. If I want to listen to the Beatles, I can just play them on my ipod. I don't need more of that kind of music... I love Ryan's lyrics, and Panic! will definitely not do as well without them (as you've heard in New Perspective. . . ) . The Youn
The other band that Ryan and Jon are now in is called The Young Veins.... so far theyve only put out one song but its good... kinda like pretty. odd. but sped up and the lyrics make a bit more sense hahahaha :) Panic! is an amazing band and i love both their albums and im sure the next one will be great too... but i will miss ryan a whole bunch :(
they didn't break up Brandon and Spencer have already replaced the previous 2 members.ther e working on there 3rd album and have already released the first single from it called New Perspective.
panic rocks but why did they have to break up and what are the 2 new bands names
they're just like Fall out boy.their songs are about sex, but in an alernative, peppy sort of way...
What a creepy picture. That dude had a panic attack at Club Zanzibar.
These guys are great. The second album is different because they actually took time to write each song acoustically and concentrate on the music--they' r e a better live band because of it. BTW what's with all the antagonistic jerks? It's music, dude! If one person is touched by a song, then it's a great song!
i love new perspective. i want some more new things from Panic!
Panic At The Disco didn't split up.Ryan Ross and Jon Walker left to form there own group.Brando n Urie and Spencer Smith have already replaced them and released a new single called New Perspective. t h e two guys who have replaced Ryan and Jon are Ian Crawford and Dallon Weekes.
their 2005 album's sound is like a direct copy of FOB's sound. i think they totally ripped off their sound. dont get me wrong, i love their music, i just wanna state my feelings on how similar the bands sound. no wonder they r under the same label.
Panic! At the Disco is an amazing band that should have never split up. They could have worked around the differences by putting a little of Pretty. Odd. and AFYCSO on the new albums.
I love I write Sins Not Treagedies. A Fever You Can't Sweat Out was so much better than Pretty. Odd. I JUST love this band though. Love the music video to I Write Sins Not Tragedies. Funny in my opinion.

Their sound changed so much from Fever to Pretty. Odd. It's almost a different genre. Their second CD was okay, but A Fever You Can't Sweat Out just had better* music.
